Footage from Los Angeles recently went viral on social media, showing a sea of Trump flags waving above an overpass after the devastating wildfires have ravaged the region. As a result, commentators have suggested that Californians are tired of the status quo from their Democratic leadership, which some blame in part for the fires.
The footage shows a driver riding down a Los Angeles freeway looking up to find a crowd of Trump supporters proudly flying their MAGA flags in the deep-blue state. Popular conservative commentator DC Draino said, “Tons of Trump flags spotted in LA today🔥 People want massive political changes after watching Democrat incompetence burn their city down.”
Echoing DC Draino’s sentiment, one person said, “Democrats have burned their last city down. Hopefully this will be what changes their minds and there isn’t any more destruction at the hands of democrat incompetence..” Another person said, “This is awesome! When Trump helps bring accountability California will go Red!!”
Cheering on the Trump supporters, another user wrote, “This is great. My younger sister lives South of LA. She is a very “liberal” Democrat. She says she gets scared when she sees flags like this. I tell her there is nothing to be afraid of. She won’t believe me. I have met a few wacky Trump supporters. But the majority of them are nice people that just want to stop The Woke Nonsense and get America back on the right track. Most are not racists, homophobes, transphobes or mysogonists. In fact some are Black and/or Gay. A few are Trans. The one thing that they all have in common is a desire for freedom, liberty and for the government to leave them alone.”
The American Tribune recently reported on statements from President Donald Trump during a press conference he hosted in California after visiting the destruction caused by the wildfires. During his remarks, Trump sounded off on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Democratic leadership, and insurance companies.
Speaking to Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) Trump said, “The problem with FEMA is they come from all over the country. They end up in arguments with your people from California because they want to do it a totally different way.” Pointing to the hurricane disaster in Western North Carolina, Trump said, “You haven’t gotten very much done with FEMA because and all you have to do is look at North Carolina. It’s one of the great disasters of all time.”
“With every insurance company in the country left California, that’s why you have no insurance, because you made it so impossible. People that think like you made it so impossible,” the president said addressing insurance issues in the state. “I’ve never seen a state where almost nobody has insurance. And they said, what happened? And they said, like, six months ago they all left, and two years ago they had different, you know, quadrants, but they left and you have very little insurance here. I mean, I’ve never seen anything.”
