President Joe Biden recently displayed concerning behavior when facing a reporter about Hurricane Helene. Biden stared blankly at the reporter as if unable to understand the question he was presented with. Throughout Biden’s presidency, Americans have expressed substantial concern regarding his cognitive health amid signs of decline.
The reporter asked the president, “What do the states in the storm zone need Mr. President?” Biden, appearing to not comprehend the question, stared blankly in seeming confusion before the reporter asked again, “What do the states in the storm zone, what do they need after what you saw today?” Biden realizing what was being asked said, “Oh, in the storm zone. I thinking what storm you’re talking about…They’re getting everything they need. They’re very happy across the board.”
Users on social media reacted to the concerning interaction and the broader state of the executive branch under the Biden-Harris administration. “This is just incredible! The most turbulent times in my 71 years, and we have absolutely no coherent leadership. The entire administration has gone rogue, zero command and control,” one person said.
The American Tribune recently reported on a recent incident in which President Biden snapped at a reporter who questioned why both he and Vice President Kamala Harris were away from the White House while substantial portions of the country had been ravaged by Hurricane Helene. “On the hurricane, Mr. President, why weren’t you and Vice President Harris here in Washington commanding this this weekend?” Biden was asked.
Biden hit back at the reporter, “I was commanding, I was on the phone for at least two hours yesterday and the day before as well. I command. It’s called a telephone.” After taking another vacation in his beach home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Biden had just returned to the White House over the weekend afternoon. Moreover, Vice President Harris was on the complete opposite end of the country, hosting fundraisers on the West Coast in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
However, President Biden recently released a statement about the hurricane on X that said, “Even before Hurricane Helene hit, I directed my team to do everything possible to prepare to support communities in the storm’s path. I mobilized the entire Federal government to bring every possible resource to the fight to save lives and help those in urgent need. At my direction, the Secretary of Defense has just approved the deployment of up to one thousand active-duty soldiers to reinforce the North Carolina National Guard.”
The statement added, “These soldiers will speed up the delivery of life saving supplies of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities in North Carolina – they have the manpower and logistical capabilities to get this vital job done, and fast. They will join hundreds of North Carolina National Guard members deployed under State authorities in support of the response. Hurricane Helene has been a storm of historic proportion. My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced unthinkable loss. We are here for you – and we will stay here for as long as it takes.”
