Vice President Kamala Harris was recently mocked on social media over her explanation of artificial intelligence, an increasingly important conversation as the technology is becoming progressively more advanced. However, Harris, who has been continually criticized for her word-salad rants, offered a surface-level explanation of the technology that lacked any substantial insight.
Harris stated, “I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing. First of all, it’s two letters.” She continued, “It means artificial intelligence. But ultimately, what it is is it’s about machine learning, and so the machine is taught.”
The vice president went on, “And part of the issue here is what information is going into the machine that will then determine and we can predict them, if we think about what machine, what information is going in, what then will be produced in terms of decisions and opinions that may be made through that process.”
The popular conservative X account End Wokeness uploaded the footage of Harris attempting to explain artificial intelligence in Layman’s terms, writing, “VP Harris explains artificial intelligence. I want reparations for the brain cells I lost.” The clip of Harris speaking featured comical edited moments of a crowd sarcastically nodding their heads as she expounded on the technology.
Kamala Harris has been the subject of substantial criticism throughout Biden’s presidency, where many have suggested that she is not qualified to serve as the vice president. Earlier this year, The American Tribune reported on the opinion of prominent conservative political analyst Jonah Goldberg, who suggested that Harris was “Biden’s worst political decision.”
The analyst stated that Harris’ selection was a “big drag” on the Biden campaign. “I think she’s a pretty big drag. I think she was arguably Biden’s worst political decision of his presidency to pick her in the first place,” Goldberg said.
The conservative journalist further illustrated how in light of Biden’s elderly age, where he is the oldest sitting president in U.S. history, the vice president is of great importance. Harris would ostensibly assume the reigns of the presidency if Biden were to expire before the end of his current or second term. Moreover, Goldberg criticized Harris that she was unable to relate to anyone aside from liberals. Watch the clip of Harris discussing AI below:
He continued, “And, one of the special reasons that she’s a drag is, Biden’s age concerns people. They worry that he can’t fill a term. They worry that he’s not up to the job. And, so, the vice president matters more than they normally do. I generally think going into the future that Democrats really should not nominate or front people who come from decidedly all-blue states unless they’re, like, once-in-a-generation talents, like Barack Obama. Because Kamala Harris does not know how to talk to the center or to the right. She only really knows how to speak the language of the base of the party. And that’s 34% of the electorate.”
According to the most recent data on the polling site FiveThirtyEight, Kamala Harris, like President Biden, has had a dismal approval rating for the vast majority of her term. Current reports indicate that under 40% of Americans approve of her jobs as VP, where half of Americans disapprove.
