First Lady Jill Biden recently spoke about President Biden’s old age, claiming he was a “healthy, wise 81-year-old.” According to Jill, “age is a gift,” something her husband certainly has as the nation’s oldest sitting president.
The First Lady made the comments while on the campaign trail in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Jill claimed that the election is more than “stopping an extremist,” presumably taking a shot at Donald Trump, whom the left incessantly tries to paint as a threat to Democracy. She encouraged the audience not to focus on age but instead on the “character” of our nation’s leader.
“This isn’t just about stopping an extremist, and this election is most certainly not about age,” Dr. Jill Biden said. “Joe and that other guy are essentially the same age. Let’s not be fooled. But what this election is about, it’s about the character of the person leading our country.”
Jill then stated, “Joe Biden is a healthy, wise 81-year-old ready and willing to work for you every day to make our future better. Joe isn’t one of the most effective presidents of our lives in spite of his age but because of it.”
President Biden’s wife further argued that the “woman I am today is wiser, stronger, more insightful, and more confident than I was all those years ago.” She continued, “Every line on my face has been earned by the furrowed brows of difficult decisions made, by the sun of countless roads traveled, by the sweet strain of deep laughter with the people I love. Age is a gift.”
Dr. Jill Biden is set to make campaign stops across Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, Nevada, and Arizona, as she champions “Seniors for Biden,” an initiative seeking to capture voter demographics aged 65 and over. Throughout Biden’s presidency, he has demonstrated signs of advanced age through innumerable public slip-ups and consistent gaffes during his speeches. As a result, many voters are concerned about the state of the president’s mental and physical condition.
Polling earlier this year found that 86% of Americans believe Joe Biden is too old for a second term. As mentioned, Biden is already the oldest president in U.S. history and would be 86 years old by the time he left office after a second term.
Furthermore, these concerns among voters are further fueled and validated by official reports from Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was charged with investigating Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. Hur partly concluded that criminal charges should not be brought against the president because of his elderly age and poor memory.
Congressional Republicans are actively battling with the Department of Justice to obtain the audio recordings of the interviews between the president and Hur, which could be further damaging for the Biden campaign. See some of Biden’s recent concerning behavior below:
Moreover, the Wall Street Journal recently published a damning piece about Joe Biden’s mental faculties titled, “Behind Closed Doors, Biden Shows Signs of Slipping.” The report interviewed dozens of individuals familiar with President Biden on both sides of the political aisle. For example, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy claimed Biden was “not the same person” he used to be.
