Speaking during a recent episode of her Sirius XM show “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Megyn Kelly tore into Target for its women’s swimsuit that was marketed as being “tuck friendly” and having “extra crotch coverage.”
Speaking on that, she first said, “Target decided it would be a great idea to partner with a company — as far as I could tell one of its main lines seems to be sort of a pro-Satan line of clothing. They decided to willingly partner with this clothing manufacturer to make Pride month gear that includes bathing suits that are quote ‘tuck-friendly’ that have extra material around the crotch, which no woman needs because we don’t have penises down south in Rio.”
Continuing, she added, “We don’t need extra material and we don’t need tuck-friendly, but the Target CEO is out there defending this saying: ‘Look, the extra crotch wear and the tuck-friendly bathing suits are important, that this whole line in the Pride department is a good business decision. It’s the right thing for a society.’”
“So Target turned to them to make their new line of clothing, including baby onesies with rainbow patterns, and at one point, selling their Pride related merch that read things like: We belong everywhere across the trans flag, too queer for here, cure transphobia not trans people, and so on,” she pointed out.
Speaking about the situation during an appearance on Fortune’s “Leadership Next” podcast, Target CEO Brian Cornell said, “When we think about purpose at Target, it’s really about helping all the families, and that ‘all’ word is really important. Most of America shops at Target, so we want to do the right thing to support families across the country.”
Continuing, he added, “I think those are just good business decisions, and it’s the right thing for society, and it’s the great thing for our brand. The things we’ve done from a DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion) standpoint, it’s adding value. It’s helping us drive sales, it’s building greater engagement with both our teams and our guests, and those are just the right things for our business today.”
Despite that claim, Target is currently shrinking its “Pride” sections by a significant amount and moving them to the back of the store to avoid confrontations with angry customers, as we reported on The American Tribune, saying:
Target decided to ignore every lesson that should have been learned from the Bud Light disaster and ditch what could have been culturally neutral ground for wokeness. Particularly, it did so with both a women’s swimsuit advertised as being “tuck friendly” and having “extra crotch coverage,” and with a Pride collection designed by a Satanist.
As such, it’s facing a stock price plummet as calls for a boycott of Target from conservative quarters online grow. It is reacting to that by having “emergency” calls with managers and senior directors at Target locations around the country, asking them to shrink the size of their pride collection and move it to the back of the store while getting rid of Pride-clad banners and mannequins.
“We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage,” a Target insider reportedly told Fox News.
“We call our customers ‘guests,’ there is outrage on their part. This year, it is just exponentially more than any other year. I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation,” the insider added.
The insider then told Fox News that the call was “super quick” and that those on it were relieved, saying: “The call was super quick, it was 15 minutes. The first 10 minutes was about how to keep your team safe and not having to advocate for Target. The last five was, ‘Move this to the back, take down the mannequins and remove the signage.’ It’s all under the guise of trying to increase swim sales. Everyone was like, ‘Thank God,’ because we’re all on the front lines dealing with it.”
