Tucker Carlson was recently blindsided when Fox News decided to part ways with him this week. However, this hasn’t deterred the news anchor, who has been seen happily enjoying time with his family while developing future plans.
Carlson was recently spotted with his wife outside his multimillion-dollar home in Boca Grande, Florida, driving around a golf cart, laughing and seemingly carefree. “Retirement is going great so far,” Carlson said lightheartedly. “I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years,” he added. When questioned about his future plans, he joked, “Appetizer plus entree.”
Tucker spoke out for the first time Wednesday night, breaking his silence on his recent firing via his Twitter account. He began the video, “Good evening. It’s Tucker Carlson, one of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind of decent people, people who really care about what’s true and a bunch of hilarious people. Also, a lot of those, it’s got to be the majority of population even now. So that’s heartening.”

Tucker also talked about nice it is to step away from the chaos of covering political events every day, “The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are, they’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember that we had them, trust me as someone who’s participated, and yet the same time.“
He then slammed the political regime of the media apparatus he was a part of, “Debates like that are not permitted in American media. Both political parties and their donors have reached consensus on what benefits them, and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it. Suddenly, the United States looks very much like a one-party state.”
Tucker concluded his monologue with an uplifting message, “True things prevail. Where can you still find American saying true things? There are many places left but there are some and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words there is hope. See you soon.”
Many are calling Fox’s dismissal of Carlson a big mistake for the network, given Tucker’s popularity. Glenn Beck said, “I think that’ll kill Fox, I really do. I know so many people that still kinda like Fox, they watch other shows, but they’re like, Tucker is the only one I really trust. You lose Tucker Carlson, I think that really kills them.” Continuing, he repeatedly expressed his surprise that FNC forced Tucker out, saying, “You’re getting rid of Tucker Carlson? Wow. Letting him walk out the door even? Wow.”
Corroborating this claim, Fox News saw a substantial decline in ratings without Tucker’s slot on the channel. Also, Fox Corporation lost nearly a billion dollars in market value on the stock market after he departed from the news channel. Regardless, Tucker Carlson holds a massive brand and will inevitably be successful on whatever platform he chooses.
