Discussing the recent Bud Light boycott’s effectiveness, including both people not buying the products produced by Anheuser-Busch InBev and the stock price plummet of the same company, the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh said:
“The only negative here is the possibility that we won’t keep it up and this will just be a blip on the radar screen, and conservatives will just go back to buying Bud Light again. As long as we don’t make that mistake, then this is a big win. You can cut Bud Light out of your life in a second, it requires no effort, and you will be fine. Even if you like that kind of terrible beer, there are other types that are just as cheap.”
Continuing, he added, “The Left selected Mulvaney as their mascot for transgenderism. He was going to be famous no matter what we did. We can’t make Dylan Mulvaney un-famous. Once the Left has decided to do that with someone, we can’t stop it. We don’t own Hollywood, we don’t own the media. But we can make someone a much more toxic and divisive figure than he otherwise would have been. That’s what we did with Dylan Mulvaney, and it was well deserved.”
This comes after Walsh mocked the taste of Bud Light, comparing it to a mix of malaria and rainwater. Reporting on those comments on the American Tribune, we said:
Conservative commentator Matt Walsh slammed Bud Light and the brand’s recent partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Walsh called for a boycott of the brand, but claimed it would not be difficult due to Bud Light’s horrible taste.
Dylan Mulvaney identifies as a “girl” and has risen to popularity in recent months for documenting “365 days of girlhood” on social media despite being a biological male. Mulvaney has scored numerous brand sponsorship deals, the latest being with Bud Light, and has even been invited to the White House. Apparently, this is the face of American “women.”
Walsh noted, “This is how persecuted these people are: all a man needs to do is announce he’s a woman, and he will be immediately showered with more endorsement deals than an NFL quarterback gets. In fact, one of the only quarterbacks who rivals Mulvaney’s sponsorship tally is Colin Kaepernick, and he’s not even a quarterback.”
He then addressed the beverage’s poor taste, stating, “Their beer tastes like rainwater siphoned out of a tin bucket that’s been sitting in your backyard for three weeks. Bud Light tastes very much like malaria and rust. It also tastes like nothing at the same time.” Finding a much better-tasting alternative to the beer will not be hard.
In boycotting Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products, consumers are doing what conservative commentators like Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh suggested and singling out a company to boycott and pressure.
Walsh suggested the tactic in a two-part post, saying, “Here’s what we should do: Pick a victim, gang up on it, and make an example of it. We can’t boycott every woke company or even most of them. But we can pick one, it hardly matters which, and target it with a ruthless boycott campaign. Claim one scalp then move onto the next. The problem is that many conservatives don’t have the stomach or attention span for this. And our political “leaders” are almost completely useless. There is a way to win real victories. We just need a little grit and a little follow through.”
Kirk, in response, said, “I agree, Matt. Let’s start with Budweiser. Since 2008, it’s been owned by a Dutch multinational. Plenty of American-owned alternatives. And it’s an awful product. Let’s put Budweiser out of business. What say you?”
I agree, Matt.
Let's start with Budweiser. Since 2008, it's been owned by a Dutch multinational. Plenty of American-owned alternatives. And it's an awful product.
Let's put Budweiser out of business.
What say you? https://t.co/KOlA2QpLsW
