“You’ve Been Wrong All Your Life”: Crowd Goes Wild After Trump Calls Out Reporter Live On TV [WATCH]

During an interview with Bloomberg News at The Economic Club of Chicago, former President Donald Trump called out a reporter to his face, stating that he was wrong “all his life” on critical economic issues. The two discussed the implications of Trump’s economic agenda for the value of the U.S. dollar and its status as the world’s reserve currency.

Addressing Trump’s protectionist trade policies, the reporter said, “You said that if you lost the dollar as a reserve currency, it would be like America losing a war. Yeah, you look at what you’re going to do in terms of protectionism, drive countries to use the other currencies, and all that debt is also going to lessen the dollar’s status as of the world’s reserve currency value.”

The reporter further pointed out that markets have predicted that Trump’s plan would drive up debt and inflation.  “President Trump, at the moment, there is a thing called the Trump trade in the market. Do you know what that is? The Trump trade is very simple. People are betting that your policies are going to drive up debt, they’re going to drive up inflation, so they’re going to drive up inflation rate. Interest rates,” he said, before asking the former president, “Are the investors wrong?”

The Republican presidential candidate responded, maintaining that he led a successful economy throughout his prior administration, where his policies produced no inflation that experts had warned about.  “I had four years no inflation. I had four years. That was when you had much. I had four years. It’s better than that. And Biden, who has no idea where the hell he is, okay. Biden went two years with no inflation, because he inherited from me, and then they started spending money like drunken sailors,” Trump stated.

Continuing to bash the Biden-Harris administration and other high-raking Democrats, Trump added, “They spent so much money, it was so ridiculous, the money they were spending, they were spending on the green new scam, the green new scam, the Green New Deal. You know, it was conceived of AOC plus three. She never even studied the environment in college. She went to a nice College. She came out, she just said the Green New scam.”

However, the reporter fired back, substantiating the economic criticisms waged against him.  “The markets are looking at the fact you are making all these promises. Latest one was car loans. You’re flooding the thing with giving giveaways. But I was actually quite kind to you. I use 7 trillion. The upper estimate is 15 trillion people like the Wall Street Journal is hardly a communist organization…they have criticized you on this as well. You are running up enormous debt,” he said.

Trump maintained that the Wall Street Journal has been wrong in the issues, stating, “What does the Wall Street Journal know I’m meeting with them tomorrow. What does the Wall Street Journal know?  They’ve been wrong about everything.”  Trump then called out the reporter, asserting, “So have you, by the way, you’ve been wrong…You’re wrong, you’ve been wrong. You’ve been wrong all your life on this stuff.”
