In a viral video clip making its way through all the social media platforms, conservative personality Alex Stein goes after infamous Republican In Name Only (RINO) Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who recently lost his primary race, and trolls him relentlessly while out on the street. The video starts with Stein, who is recording the whole encounter, approaching the congressman while walking across a parking lot.
“Dan! Dan! I bet you didn’t see that loss coming, Dan. Dan? Dan, did you see that loss coming, Crenshaw?” He gets closer and closer to Crenshaw, who is outside of some venue, continuing to heckle the congressman, saying, “You took the ‘L.’ Did you see that coming? I know you only got one eye, Cyclops.” The heckling only got more brutal from there.
“You lost. Did you do a good job?” Stein continued. The video then cuts to a photo of Crenshaw standing on the steps of the venue with a caption that reads, “Loser Dan Crenshaw” and a second one with an arrow pointing to the congressman’s eyepatch that said, “Gay eye patch.” Stein then resumes heckling, shouting, “Great job on your election, brother!”
He then repeatedly calls Crenshaw a “loser” before informing Crenshaw, “We got your a**, Dan.” After calling him a “loser” several more times, he then asked the Texas Republican, “Are you scared? Is that why you’re walking away?” A report from The Texas Tribune revealed that Crenshaw blames his primary loss on “unfounded attacks” and a culture of misinformation, stating that the “power of clickbait” was too much to overcome.
The Texas congressman lost the primary to Rep. Steve Toth, despite being a four-term congressman. Toth is considered by many to be one of the most conservative members of the Texas Legislature. The primary challenger defeated Crenshaw by a whopping 15-point margin, sending a clear message that voters were not on board with the work the incumbent was doing in Congress.
Much of the criticism for Crenshaw comes from his stance on red flag laws — a form of gun control — and allegations of insider trading, along with attacks on the MAGA base that has been responsible for many of the big wins conservatives have experienced since 2016. Crenshaw spoke with the Texas Tribune where he talked about how people criticize him online, but not to his face.
”It’s not like anyone was going to the polls saying, ‘I don’t like that you said that. I disagree with it.’ Because at least then, they would be debating with me on something that I actually said,” Crenshaw told the outlet. “I could deal with that. … But that’s never what came up in people’s minds and out of their mouths.” He then added, “A large part of this election was about the power of clickbait.”

“Memes became truth. Too many people are not discerning through the clickbait. People voting — one after the other — literally thought I was making millions in the stock market doing inside trading. Even though I haven’t made a trade in three years. I’ve made under $46,000 over my entire seven years in office. The truth didn’t matter to people,” he continued.
