In a surprise statement, Hollywood icon Jon Voight slammed Gavin Newsom for blaming anti-ICE riots in California on Trump instead of taking responsibility for his actions. The actor’s fiery rebuke intensifies calls for the Democrat to take responsibility for the chaos in Los Angeles.
For context, since June 6, 2025, violent riots have plagued the California city in response to a recent uptick in immigration raids. Instead of condemning the violence, many Democrats have taken the opportunity to use the riots as a political prop in their anti-Trump agenda.
In any case, Voight slammed the cowardly California governor, saying, “You’re a fool, bringing Trump [into this]. What are you doing for this destruction of these animals, destroying Los Angeles? Are you there talking calmly with them? You fool!”
Slamming the violent rioters, the actor continued, “They would burn you down like they’re burning the cars and the American flag with no regard for humanity. This is not about Trump. This is about protecting the people from these animals and criminals trying to destroy us and our police force.”
Concluding his remarks, Voight renewed his attack on Newsom, wondering, “Are they supposed to stand there, let rocks hit them and kill them? Who’s going to save them? You? You’re a disgrace. You’re nothing but a lying dog for the hopes of becoming the president one day.”
The Hollywood actor was far from the only person with harsh criticisms for the embattled Democrat. President Donald took to Truth Social to say, “Los Angeles was safe and sound for the last two nights. Our great National Guard, with a little help from the Marines, put the L.A. Police in a position to effectively do their job.”
Continuing his remarks, the president stated, “They all worked well together, but without the Military, Los Angeles would be a crime scene like we haven’t seen in years. Governor Gavem Newsom had totally lost control of the situation. He should be saying THANK YOU for saving his ass, instead of trying to justify his mistakes and incompetence!!!”
