President Donald Trump went nuclear on Norah O’Donnell, the contributing correspondent for “60 Minutes”, after she read off portions of his alleged, would-be assassin’s manifesto on air. Trump sounded off on her for it, declaring her to be a “disgrace”. That came on Sunday, April 26, shortly after the attack.
As background, the incident occurred during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night, when Cole Allen, a 31-year-old teacher, tried to storm the event and shoot at the president and other administration officials. Allen appears to be a leftist who was taken in by much of the propaganda regarding the president.
At one point in his manifesto, for instance, he claims: “I am a citizen of the United States of America. What my representatives do reflects on me. And I am no longer willing to permit a p*dophile, r*pist and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.” O’Donnell read that off and President Trump reacted quite fiercely to it.
Beginning by snapping at O’Donnell after she asked him for his opinion on the matter and the manifesto, the president said, “Well, I was waiting for you to read that, because I knew you would, because you’re horrible people. Horrible people.”
Continuing, he added, “Yeah, he did write that. I’m not a r*pist. I didn’t r*pe anybody.” O’Donnell shot back, “Do you think he was referring to you?” The president angrily responded, “I’m not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all— stuff that has nothing to do with me.”
Further, the president insisted that it is really the left that has been caught up in the drama and the litany of crimes, saying, “I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with, let’s say [disgraced financier and child sex offender Jeffrey] Epstein or other things. But I said to myself, ‘You know, I’ll do this interview.’”
The president then returned to berating her for pushing lies about him on air, saying that the network shouldn’t be repeating such smears about him. He said, “I read the manifesto. You know, he’s a sick person. But you should be ashamed of yourself reading that because I’m not any of those things. You shouldn’t be reading that on ’60 Minutes.’ You’re a disgrace. But go ahead, let’s finish the interview.”

Trump, posting about the attack on Truth Social after it occurred, said, “What happened last night is exactly the reason that our great Military, Secret Service, Law Enforcement and, for different reasons, every President for the last 150 years, have been DEMANDING that a large, safe, and secure Ballroom be built ON THE GROUNDS OF THE WHITE HOUSE. This event would never have happened with the Militarily Top Secret Ballroom currently under construction at the White House. It cannot be built fast enough!”
He added, “While beautiful, it has every highest level security feature there is plus, there are no rooms sitting on top for unsecured people to pour in, and is inside the gates of the most secure building in the World, The White House. The ridiculous Ballroom lawsuit, brought by a woman walking her dog, who has absolutely No Standing to bring such a suit, must be dropped, immediately. Nothing should be allowed to interfere with with its construction, which is on budget and substantially ahead of schedule!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
