“You Trigger My Gag Reflex”: Senator Wildly Roasts Open Borders Advocate [WATCH]

A viral video clip of Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) has resurfaced on social media featuring an explosive exchange with open borders advocate David Bier, the Director of Immigration Studies at the Cato Institute in which Kennedy told Bier that he “triggered my gag reflex.” The confrontation was focused on social media posts by Bier that were highly critical of President Donald Trump’s immigration and deportation policies.

Kennedy started off the exchange by reading Bier’s posts aloud, which were published on the liberal social media platform Bluesky. He pointed out one post in particular from February 2026 in which Bier suggested that Democratic lawmakers calling on military personnel to disobey “illegal orders” from the Trump administration “did not go far enough.”

The Louisiana Republican then shined a spotlight on another post where Bier referred to the administration’s immigration strategy as a “population purge agenda.” Kennedy said, “In front of God and country, you said ‘They [Republicans] can troll their way into us accepting ethnic cleansing.’ Your words, not mine. Did I read that correctly?”

According to a report from AOL, Bier took the opportunity to defend the terminology he employed in the posts, connecting it with specific communications made by the executive branch. “That was in regard to a Department of Homeland Security post about advocating for 100 million deportations,” Bier responded. “That is what DHS has tweeted from their own account, 100 million deportations!”

Things only escalated from there, going on to take a much more personal, more hostile tone as Kennedy continued to question Bier and his perspective on the issue. “Truth hurts, doesn’t it,” Kennedy told Bier. “Truth can just gut you like a fish! And you don’t think this is hyperbolic?” Bier doubled down on the accuracy of his descriptions, saying they were based on the scope of the administration’s goals.

“When I talk about population purge, I’m talking about the fact they’re trying to deport U.S.-born citizens, people born here as well,” Bier said in his testimony. “It’s not a mass deportation agenda. It is also an agenda intended to reduce the population of the United States, including U.S.-born people! These are not hyperbolic statements!”

Kennedy rejected Bier’s explanation, going on to ask him, “What planet did you just parachute in from? You trigger my gag reflex!” The comment section on the Facebook post sharing the video was largely supportive of Kennedy’s point of view. One individual wrote, “I love Kennedy. He presents facts in such a humorous way.”

Hilariously, another individual wrote, “Love Senator Kennedy!!! He always makes the boobs feel like boobies.” Another person replied, “Love how senator Kennedy quoted his words to ensure no ambiguity was present. There is truly no one like Senator Kennedy. Protect him at all costs.” Someone else slammed liberals for saying American citizens are being deported but not providing detailed proof. “They always say American citizens are being deported, they never give names and WHERE are they being deported to.”
