Sanctuary State Governor Kathy Hochul of New York is under severe fire from many in her state after an illegal alien who was previously arrested by the US Border Patrol ended up living in New York and murdering a 28-year-old man in the once-great state.
As background, the illegal immigrant is a 20-year-old named Carlos Corrales-Ramirez. Originally from Honduras, he made his way to New York, a sanctuary state, where he stabbed to death 28-year-old Jario Hernandez-Sanchez. That incident occurred in Troy, New York.
That led to Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin ripping into Kathy Hochul, saying, “@GovKathyHochul you own this as you own every murder, rape and assault by every one of these illegal alien scumbags. Same people you said were ‘vetted and we know who they are.’ Resign. You are a disgrace.”
Mr. McLaughlin, in the attached link, said, “This arrest is clear proof the open borders and sanctuary cities policies are failures, and the inabilitv by Biden and Hochul to deal with the illegal migrant issue are placing our safety and quality of life in jeopardy.”
Continuing, he added, “This individual was apparently not only in the country illegally but had been arrested in March at the northern border for a stabbing in February in Maryland. How he got here and how he was freed after the arrest this past winter and out on the streets to allegedly murder someone in Troy needs to be explained.”
He then took the opportunity to attack Biden as well, saying, “The failures of Biden and Hochul are putting so man at risk. We will get answers as to how this massive failure occurred and how this man was out on the streets and able to allegedly kill another man.”
And, emphasizing the decline in rule of law shown by this situation and others like it, he said, “It is becoming all too clear that there are two sets of laws and standards in our nation and our state. The end result of that foolishness and lack of common sense is a killing on Saturday in the biggest city in our county allegedly by a man who was not supposed to be in our country and additionally, not free on the streets.”
Mr. McLaughlin also attacked Biden in a tweet on the stabbing, saying, “Murderer was in custody and released. Absolute insanity and a MASSIVE FAILURE by I.C.E. and Maryland. How many more Americans will you let die @potus? Close the border.”
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), who represents the suburbs of Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, wrote, “Kathy Hochul and Joe Biden’s failed soft on crime, open borders agenda has unleashed a wave of criminal activity across New York. We’ve now seen 2 migrants arrested for rape and a murder in Upstate NY. Biden & Hochul must be held accountable for their deadly incompetence.”
The situation in New York has grown bad enough that now even New York City Mayor Eric Adams is calling for change, warning that a continuation of the same will lead to more misery and the once-great city being completely swamped by migrants.
