YIKES: Authorities Thwart Yet Another Assassination Attempt Against President Trump

In some terrifying news out of Texas, a 40-year-old man named Benny Caldera Jr. has been placed in federal custody after having planned a terror attack on the Texas State Capitol in what appears to be an attack timed to coincide with President Trump appearing at the Capitol for an event on the same day. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 30.

According to the authorities and the local media, Caldera has been charged with “making a terroristic threat against a public servant” after he threatened to shoot up the Capitol and said that those who are associated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, better known as AIPAC, ought to be “exterminated”.

Further, according to the authorities and media, the attack was planned to occur on the day after he was arrested, October 1. President Trump was scheduled to speak at the Capitol on that Thursday, suggesting that the attack was meant to target the president as well.

Fortunately for America, the Texas authorities were on top of their game, and when they received what they thought to be “credible information about an individual planning a violent attack” on Tuesday evening, they worked through the night with the federal authorities, namely the FBI, to plan a raid and stop the attack.

As a result, state and federal investigators worked with SWAT officers to launch a raid on Caldera’s home in Converse, Texas, and arrest him at about 3 in the morning on Wednesday, September 30, preventing the terror attack and taking him into custody.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, commenting on the matter in a post on X, announced, “🚨UPDATE:🚨Late this evening, Benny Caldera Jr., 40, was arrested by the FBI at the Bexar Co. Jail to face additional federal charges in connection with a possible planned attack at the Texas State Capitol. Caldera Jr. was then released from the Bexar Co. Jail into federal custody, where he will remain.”

Emphasizing that he remains locked up, just in federal rather than police custody, the Texas DPS said, “He is not out on bond.” It then called on everyone to be vigilant, while also noting that there is no reason to suspect any residual threat. It said, “At this time, there is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the Texas State Capitol. DPS will continue an increased posture at the Texas Capitol and encourages ALL Texans to remain vigilant.”

In a later post, the DPS commented on how speaking up can save lives, saying, “DPS investigates hundreds of threats to life every year, but most of them don’t make headlines. This week, in a matter of hours, DPS and law enforcement partners prevented a violent attack on the Texas Capitol – all because one person spoke up.
