In a terse response, Elon Musk implicated the controversial USAID program in a senseless act of violence that occurred when Mohamed Solima, an immigrant, threw makeshift firebombs at pro-Israel protestors in Boulder, Colorado.
For context, Mohamed Sabry Soliman is a 45-year-old Egyptian national who was arrested after a terror attack on June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, which targeted a pro-Israel “Run for Their Lives”. He threw Molotov cocktails, injuring 12 people, resulting in federal hate crimes and attempted murder charges.
Starting the flurry of social media posts, Conservative influencer Benny Johnson posted a video of Kayleigh McEnany breaking the news about the tragic terror attack. In the clip, she revealed, “Federal authorities releasing the charges for the man accused of setting eight people on fire in that targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, officials say he’s now being charged with a federal hate crime, and this is what they found.”
Adding additional context, the Fox News host said, “They found at least 14 unlit Molotov cocktails on his person, along with that makeshift flamethrower. The Molotov comprised of glass wine bottles or ball jars containing clear liquid and red rags hanging out of the bottles. He made these himself.”
Speaking to the terrorists motivation, McEnany explained, “In fact, it says that he researched on YouTube how to do this, and later, during an interview with the officials, the suspect stated outright he’s talking he stated he wanted to, ‘kill all Zionist people, and wished they were all dead.'”
Concluding her remarks, the anchor stated, “He also stated that he would do it again. Emily. He also said during this interview that he specifically targeted the Zionist group that had gathered in Boulder. He knew they planned to meet that day, Sunday, at 1 pm. He arrived at 12:55 and waited for them.”
In the caption to the post, which was made on June 2, 2025, Johnson said, “🚨BREAKING: Mohamed Soliman, the criminal alien Boulder terrorist let in under Biden, has been charged with a hate crime. 14 Molotov cocktails were found near the scene, and USAID paperwork was discovered in his vehicle.”

Reacting to the post, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) declared, “They found “USAID paperwork” in the Boulder terrorist’s car We need to find out more about that. And ensure that nothing like USAID is funded by Congress—ever again.”
In the comments under Lee’s post, another prominent conservative quipped, “USAID funds terrorism.” To which, Elon Musk, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Tesla CEO, laconically replied, “Yes.”
In response to Musk’s brief comment, many conservatives shared their perspectives on the issue. One user said, “I can tell you airplanes and hotels are filled with people due to all this money. I see and hear them. It’s a crazy waste of money when we could better people’s lives.”
Bringing up another fraudulent government program, one user said, “I wish your team could have eliminated the Veterans Administration, it is broken and a burden on the taxpayers. That money could be put into the hospitals and staffs on military installations to provide the best care for our military and veterans.”

Noting an example of USAID corruption, one comment wrote, “Elon Musk’s agreement with the claim that USAID funds terrorism aligns with a growing conservative outcry, and the evidence is damning. First, the Middle East Forum’s multi-year study revealed USAID funneled $122M to terror-linked groups, including Gaza’s Bayader Association, tied to Hamas—a designated terrorist group. This isn’t isolated; USAID granted $9M to Al-Nusrah Front in Syria, per a DOJ indictment, directly funding al-Qaida affiliates while Syrians starved.”
