Garage rock superstar Jack White, formerly of The White Stripes, recently referred to President Donald Trump as “the worst American of all time” after he stated that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles or San Diego while speaking at a recent rally. The controversy all started on October 5, 2026, when the president spoke at a rally in Nebraska about the topic of gas prices.
He discussed how gas prices going up because of the war in Iran, saying it was a “small price to pay for keeping the world safe –keeping our country safe.” He then said, “They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” While some in the crowd applauded what Trump said, it’s not clear if they were applauding the lowering of gas prices or the hypothetical attack against two large American cities.
As soon as the words left the president’s mouth, they sparked a heated debate across the media landscape the following day. Critics of Trump say he was flippantly suggesting that Iran could attack Americans while those defending him from the right-wing said he was only making a reference to the potential cost of Iran having access to a nuclear weapon.
According to a report from Breitbart News, White published a post on Instagram calling Trump the “Fuhrer,” which is a reference to Adolf Hitler, while also slamming him as being the worst American to ever set foot on the nation. He also included a dig at Republicans and conservatives for having voted for Trump and supporting him.
“Hey Republicans and conservatives that live in L.A. and San Diego; how do you feel about your Fuhrer recommending that the cities you live in get attacked? Click the video I reposted and watch for yourself,” White said in his post. “Listen to the cult members CLAPPING and cheering for this. Let me take a wild guess: it was a joke, owning the libs, insert cult rhetoric here, etc. The allegiance these people have to this corrupt felon is so laughable and ignorant.”
“That’s right, a U.S. ‘President’ that recommended that two major cities in our country be bombed because they don’t give total allegiance to his ego,” he went on to write in his post. “Imagine any other President or elected official in history saying this. False flag incoming anyone? Just wait till next month when he begins enacting illegal measures to not allow democracy at the polls to prevail when the right lose badly in the mid term elections. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The Worst American of All Time.”
Left-wing conspiracy theorists wasted no time jumping on the Trump hate train, with one individual claiming that the president was preparing the country for a “false flag” event that will come down the pike in November, December, or possibly January. Someone else noted that San Diego has a very large military presence.

“Does he know San Diego is home of the Marines, Navy, and Miramar. Literally the entire West Coast fleet, seal team six, and Top Gun. The highest concentration of United States military personnel in the entire country,” one user said. Another leftist said, “I wonder what all our brave service men and women in San Diego think?”
