Woody Harrelson appears to have thrown his support behind Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president in a recent Instagram picture where he wore a hat that says “Kennedy 2024.” Harrelson has been one of the few superstar Hollywood actors who has been unafraid to share their conservative beliefs in the face of constant cancellation attempts from the woke left.
Harrelson wore the hat in an Instagram post on the account of Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s wife, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines. “Great seeing you Woody,” the caption from Hines said. Harrelson’s hat made a statement to fans that he is not scared of the potential backlash that could fall on him the same way that it has on Jason Aldean in recent weeks.
Harrelson has spoken out against the liberal left many times throughout his career. In an interview with Esquire that was shared via Breitbart, Harrelson spoke about the many things that make him have a deep distrust for those on the far left. “I understand it. And there’s still a fear of communism. We still loathe Russia. There’s still all the concern about the liberal agenda. I get how this mentality develops. I’m really, basically, a little bit of both.”
He added that he sees problems with both sides, but Harrelson made sure to call out the liberals in a special way. “There are things that the liberals do that I think, What fucking idiots. And then there’s also conservative ideology that strikes me as odd. I consider myself, really, an anarchist.”
Harrelson also got political on an episode of SNL, according to The America Tribune, in which he attacked big Pharma for using the mainstream media to control the masses. He said, “The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes, and people can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs — and keep taking them — over and over.”
He added the following, “I never see government work. It always seems to be working for the people who got you there. It’s businessmen working for bigger businessmen. It’s not businessmen working for their constituents. I think government just usually sucks … am I wrong?”
To many Americans, especially those conservatives who are on the side of small government, this quote from Harrelson really hits home. As far as many are concerned, the federal government is meant only to protect the nation’s borders and perform other select necessary tasks for the betterment of its people.
While Harrelson likely found very little support in Hollywood for his beliefs, he has certainly found a lot of fans who agreed with the points that he has made publicly in the past.
