An alleged carjacker, 37-year-old Markevious King, learned the hard way that he picked the wrong target after a woman shot and wounded him after he climbed in the vehicle and punched her. The incident unfolded in a parking lot in Little Rock, Arkansas. The suspect first assaulted a man while he was loading up items he purchased from a local store into his vehicle, punching him several times.
According to Breitbart News, the suspect then got in the driver’s seat and punched a woman in the passenger side of the vehicle. And that’s when the King’s day took a turn he probably didn’t anticipate, as the woman pulled out a pistol and opened fire.
A report from KATV stated that the woman shot the suspect in both the head and neck area. What makes the story truly hair raising is that the woman’s two children were in the back seat of the car while all this was happening.
Local law enforcement officers soon arrived on the scene where they checked on the victims to ensure they were safe before they began administering first aid on King while they waited for medical personnel to show up.
As of Wednesday, King was still recovering in the hospital.
The female victim in the incident spoke with investigators saying that she feared for her life and the lives of her children, which is why she pulled her weapon and opened fire on him.
