Former President and current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump steamrolled the Iowa Caucus last week, and predictably, the left went into a tizzy. The race, such as it was, was called for Trump after a mere 31 minutes, causing many in the media to cry foul over such a quick decision.
Despite the lopsided outcome, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley vowed to fight on and remained in the race for the New Hampshire primary this week even after Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy bowed out, both throwing their support behind the GOP leader.
After the race was called, one particular liberal host and her network made waves by refusing to air President Trump’s acceptance speech. Rachel Maddow of lowly rated MSNBC cut away from Trump’s speech, citing a sort of moral authority in that the network doesn’t ‘knowingly broadcast untrue things.’
Maddow justified the decision by saying: “But there is a cost to us, as a news organization, of knowingly broadcasting untrue things.” She continued her absurd remarks by saying: “That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. And so, his remarks, tonight, will not air here live. We will monitor them and let you know about any news that he makes.”
For reference, Trump called for unity, among other things, in his remarks. He said, calling for that unity among Americans, “Whether it’s Republican or Democrat, or liberal or conservative, it would be so nice if we could come together.”
Maddow perhaps picked the wrong moment in time to pretend that MSNBC and herself haven’t been prime purveyors of misinformation. Despite claiming that the decision not to air Trump’s speech had nothing to do with spite, the internet begged to differ and reminded Maddow of her untrue claims from the last several years in a viral video that has now been viewed well over a million times and shared across the internet by conservative commentators.
Watch Maddow here:
Maddow has a history of supporting and spreading untrue narratives, mostly against Trump and conservatives. The liberal host pushed the Russian collusion hoax in 2016, claiming that Russia somehow aided Trump in defeating Hillary Clinton. When the Durham report dropped in 2023, blowing up the Russian collusion lie, Maddow wrote it off and moved on.
Conservative commentators on social media were quick to point out Maddow’s hypocrisy. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said: “Devastating series of videos detail Left activist @maddow fails…” and popular black conservative stars the Hodge Twins posted about Maddow, “All corporate media is like this too.” Yet another popular YouTuber named James Klüg said: “It amazes me that people still watch this propaganda.”
The lack of self-awareness by people like Rachel Maddow is stunning. Perhaps she could get away with revisionist history in an era before social media and the internet. However, in 2024, folks, particularly conservatives, keep the receipts and provide the proof, leaving woke leftists like Maddow and MSNBC to twist in the wind and the rest of social media to wait for the response that likely will never come.
