The imbecility of pop stars is often entertaining, particularly when they try commenting on politics and do so in obscenely ridiculous fashion, and such was absolutely the case with a recent video from pop star Cardi B, who in a video released after the Super Bowl declared that he had ruined her experience and sneakers during it.
As background, Trump made history on Sunday, February 9 by being the first president in history to attend the Super Bowl, which was hosted in New Orleans. Trump’s appearance was punctuated by cheering for him and booing of another woke pop star, Taylor Swift, who was there to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play for the Chiefs.
In any case, Cardi B, a noted Kamala Harris supporter during the 2024 election, freaked out in her post on social media about the president’s visit to the Super Bowl, angrily declaring that she was annoyed by the great lengths to which the Secret Service went to protect President Trump.
Beginning the seemingly unscripted video released after the Super Bowl, the pop star angrily ranted about how mad she was that the Secret Service took his protection seriously and that their doing so caused delays. She began by saying, “Yo, I was too f*cking mad today because, you know, Donald Trump and sh*t.”
Continuing, the rapper said that the reason for her extreme annoyance with the Secret Service was that it was taking stadium security so seriously, saying, “He was at the Super Bowl today, and they was giving us a hard time. Oh my gosh. The Secret Service was not playing at that motherf*cker. The Secret Service was not playing to get in that motherf*ckin’ stadium. Oh my god.”
She then went on to give another reason for her annoyance: her sneakers. The pop star said that her sneakers cost “three bands,” the slang phrase for three thousand dollars (a band is a thousand dollars), and that they were ruined when she had to walk into the stadium rather than take a cart up to it, due to Secret Service security precautions.
Cardi b said, holding up a high-heeled shoe that was covered in what appeared to be decorative spikes, “This shoe cost me three bands.” Continuing, and all the while loudly munching on chips, she said that the damage to the shoes came “All ‘cause of Trump.” She added, using incorrect grammar, “Now I like him lesser!”

Still not done and again railing against Trump for heading to the Super Bowl, while once again using the incorrect grammar she had just used in the unscripted video, “Now I like him lesser! Because you didn’t have to go to no damn Super Bowl. F*cking up my shoe!” It was unclear if both shoes or just the presented one were damaged.
Regardless, she then said, “Now he’s gonna have to, well-he definitely ain’t gon’ do that,” apparently rethinking her statement mid-sentence and changing tracks. Instead of continuing with the original thought, she said, without providing more detail about her uncle, that Trump should “bring my uncle, bring my uncle to come back because my uncle got deported!”
