What’s going on in America’s universities right now? According to popular show host Dr. Phil, America’s universities are going downhill because they have become woke hotbeds, with the most recent example of that causing problems being the reactions of students and their administrators to the Hamas attacks on Israel and Israel’s resulting response.
Particularly, Dr. Phil argued that the universities should have responded in a much stronger manner to the calls for “genocide” coming from some in the schools, and that it was unacceptable that they had not stood up for their students.
Speaking about the matter and the responses of certain university heads to questions about calls for genocide, with those hauled before Congress saying that “proper context” was needed, Dr. Phil sounded off on the woke administrators and said that the schools have become “liberal, woke hotbeds, fostering intellectual rather than critical thinking.”
And, explaining the absurdity of saying context is needed instead of condemning calls for genocide, he said, “To be 100% clear, using the dictionary definition of genocide, the question becomes, does calling for the deliberate killing of a large number of Jews with the aim of destroying the Jewish ethnic group and the nation of Israel violate your policy against bullying and harassment?”
Continuing, he noted that the calls for “context” would certainly not be there in other circumstances, saying, “How much context would be required if the student organizations were demonstrating in support of genocide of all Asians, Catholics, blacks or gays?”
Answering his rhetorical question and explaining why that’s important, he said, “‘I’ll tell you how much: none. And you know what? There should be none. All of these groups deserve protection and the right to attend school without fear, and so do the Jewish students.” Watch him here:
He also described the horrific video footage that emerged from the Hamas attacks on Israel, saying, “The sexual assaults perpetrated on the women and girls were so sick and twisted as to defy explanation. These were not acts of war; they were mass murdering cowards, high on the drug Captagon, while they celebrated and tallied up their kills like they were in a drunken bar game on a Saturday night. I was so sickened by video images I can never unsee what was done to babies in cribs and young girls begging for their lives. I am changed forevermore.”
This isn’t the first time that Dr. Phil has commented on the negative direction in which America’s youths are headed. In 2022 he said there needs to be something done to handle the “generation in trouble” from the Covid lockdowns, saying, “There needs to be a task force that recognizes we have a generation in trouble here that has been created by a prolonged quarantine, that took these children out of the game.”
He also noted the proliferation of fake, dangerous drugs, saying, “One of the things that scares me no end right now is the proliferation of counterfeit pills that are pouring into this country.” He added, “Kids are buying these pills on Snapchat and other social media platforms and they can be delivered to your house like a pizza.”
