Woke “Flash” Could Cost Warner Bros. Over $100 Million

Over the past couple of years, entertainment companies have been obsessed with inserting woke politics into their newest shows and movies.  Despite companies losing millions of dollars on these films, these major studios continue to impose their woke agenda on audiences. “The Flash” is the latest example of this phenomenon where the lead actor requests to be referred to with “they/them” pronouns.

According to recent reports, “The Flash” could cost Warner Bros. Discovery nearly $150 million after everything is all said and done.  Reportedly, the film cost almost $200 million to produce, along with an additional $100 million in marketing and promotional costs.   Furthermore, the box office revenue split between Warner Bros. and movie theaters is roughly 50 percent between the two parties.  In the Chinese market, theaters keep 75 percent.

Now that the costs have been addressed, we can look at the earnings for “The Flash.”  However, things are not looking great from a financial perspective.  As of the latest figures, domestic revenues have totaled $87.5 million and $123 million internationally.  The film has only grossed just over $210 million.

Moreover, this is after ten days at the box office, so sales will likely decrease marginally from here on out.  For example, sales dropped 70 percent just last weekend.  According to one analysis, if you assume that “The Flash” grosses a total of $375 million, another $165 million on top of current gross earnings, it would still face a massive loss.

With these assumptions and roughly $300 million in total production and promotion costs, Warner Bros. is left with a loss of $125 million.  However, these are just assumptions, and the losses could be even worse, with some predicting it to be higher.

However, this terrible financial outlook for “The Flash” is nothing new for Warner Bros., who has faced five consecutive flops in its box office movies.  The studio has released movies throughout the past few years, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, The Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman 1984, and Birds of Prey.  All of these movies had poor turnouts at the box office.

Warner Bros. Discovery is one of many producers facing financial woes with its woke agenda.  The American Tribune recently reported on woke Disney taking enormous losses on its latest box office releases.  According to the calculations of one box office analyst, Disney could have lost $890 million from the last eight of its theatrical releases.

The YouTube channel Valliant Renegade has closely tracked the box office performance of Disney’s latest releases.  The analyst then aggregated the financial metrics to get an idea of Disney’s overall performance.  The results of his analysis were abysmal.   Renegade calculated a total of $2.75 billion in production and promotional costs Disney endured for its latest films.

The YouTuber then determined that Disney only earned $1.86 billion in profits from the box office.  According to this math, Disney will have lost nearly $900 million on these movies.  To make matters worse, Disney no longer licenses its content to third parties but instead releases it exclusively on Disney+.  Therefore, it cannot offset these losses with additional income from these third-party contracts.
