When the Mandalorian first came out, everyone who watched it loved it. It had some funny moments with Baby Yoda, was well-produced, had a compelling plot, and politics were largely left out of it. So the ratings climbed despite the woke Star Wars movies flopping, even as DeSantis and Disney waged war over its taking a stance on Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education” law.
Well, that brief glimmer of competence has been snuffed out and the Mandalorian’s ratings have crashed as the show’s quality has fallen off a cliff. Such is what Breitbart reported about the show’s third season, saying:
The third season of Disney’s The Mandalorian appears to be the worst received to date with viewership declining and ratings for the latest episodes tanking. This season has three of the lowest-rated episodes of the series, with this week’s offering, featuring Jack Black and Lizzo, coming in at the lowest of them all.
This week’s episode, “Chapter 22: Guns for Hire,” features comedian Jack Black as “Captain Bombardier” and pop singer Lizzo as “The Duchess,” who, along with stars Pedro Pascal and Katee Sackhoff, take on rampaging robots and blow things up.
Bounding into Comics noted that not only is the show bleeding viewers, but those who somehow stick through the increasingly bad episodes are giving it worse and worse ratings. In that site’s words:
The latest season of The Mandalorian is not only seeing viewers tune out of the show en masse, but viewers who do happen to continue to slog through each episode are giving the series some of its worst ratings yet with the most recent episode featuring Lizzo and Jack Black currently holding the crown for the worst reviewed episode.
The Mandalorian “Chapter 22: Guns for Hire” currently has a mediocre 6.8 audience score on IMDb. Not only is this score the worst of this season, it is the worst rating for the entire series.
This latest episode unseated “Chapter 19: The Convert” that was previously the lowest rated episode with a 7.1 rating on IMDb.
The Season 3 premiere “Chapter 17: The Apostate” was previously tied with “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger” for the worst rated episode with a 7.5.
Jon Favreau, I believed in you. I put my faith in you. Dude. YOU SUCK. Season 3 has killed Mando. middle schoolers could write a better story. Bryce Dallas Howard, YOU ARE NO BETTER. #starwars #TheMandalorian pic.twitter.com/87M0kAZ98i

This is just the latest flop in Disney’s attempt to squeeze more money out of the Star Wars franchise. While they could have had easy success in doing so given how much fans loved the originals and prequels, the modern attempts have been largely hated by audiences thanks tot he woke agenda in them.
As one commenter noted on Twitter, “Lucasfilm/Disney has turned off so many people from Star Wars its become a joke of a franchise. It might be so far gone not even new management can save it. A remake of A New Hope will probably happen and that will finally be the last heartbeat of an IP already in a coma.”
Commenting on that, another noted, “There’s a point of no easy go back. Where you’ve catered it to a certain audience, but slapped a lot of other fans enough times, that bringing them back is going to be a tough sell……”
