Woke Congresswoman Faces Ethics Investigation as GOP Congressman Reveals Major Potential Misconduct

Democratic Minnesota U.S. Rep. Angie Craig is facing an ethics investigation after Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer sent a letter to the House Committee on Ethics and the Committee on House Administration drawing attention to how she’s used taxpayer money to promote her campaign and raise funds.

For context, many conservatives have raised objections about how Democrats fund their campaigns. Recently, ActBlue, a significant source of funding for progressives, has been hit with allegations of money laundering and financial impropriety, hinting at a wider problem.

In any case, the Republican leader wrote a letter on April 23, 2025, demanding accountability. He stated, “This misuse of public resources erodes the trust Americans place in their elected officials and undermines the integrity of our institutions, which is why we are calling on the House Ethics Committee and the Committee on House Administration to thoroughly review Rep. Craig’s conduct.”

Defending herself, Craig released a rebuttal. She declared, “Minnesota’s Republican Representatives have stood idly by while the Administration has started a global trade war, cut thousands of jobs, and run roughshod over our government agencies and Minnesota’s middle class.”

Still not done, she continued her desperate defence, saying, “While her Republican colleagues have refused to show up and answer to their constituents in person, Representative Craig is actively showing up in their districts. Once again, her Republican colleagues are trying to avoid doing their job.”

This is not Rep. Angie Craig’s only controversy. On May 20, 2025, she took to X to defend disgraced Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who allegedly assaulted ICE agents at an immigration protest. In response to the charges leveled against the radical Democrat, she posted, “The charges brought against my colleague, Rep. McIver, by President Trump’s Justice Department are baseless and politically-motivated.”

Continuing her endorsement, Craig declared, “They exhibit yet another brazen attempt to undermine our democratic system of checks and balances. As this Administration continues to ignore due process and weaponize the justice system against anyone who threatens its authoritarian overreach, I will continue to protect against any attempts to weaken Congress’ power to conduct government oversight.”

However, in the comments under her post, conservatives expressed their anger with the entitled Democrat. One such comment read, “She hit a federal officer. That is against the law. Live up to your oath of office or should resign. You lack any respect for law enforcement which is why the families asked you to Not Attend the tribute last week in DC for the Burnsville officers killed in the line of duty.”

However, as we reported, these charges are anything but baseless. Addressing the controversy, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that the absurd stunt put lives at risk, saying, “Members of Congress storming into a detention facility goes beyond a bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our law enforcement agents and detainees at risk.”

Continuing,  McLaughlin added that a tour would have been acceptable, but instead they trespassed, saying, “Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an evolving situation.”
