Right on cue, left-wing zealots followed up another tragic shooting with calls to enable more innocent victims to be mowed down in the future by robbing them of their basic, inherent, seemingly self-evident right to protect themselves.
Alyssa Milano, known neither for her common sense nor constitutional authority, turned to Twitter to “left-splain” her gun control agenda to Middle America’s supposed rubes.
Clueless as always, the die-hard gun grabber ended her own argument in the first tweet, but nonetheless continued in a thread of delusional talking points that bear no resemblance to how real life works.
1. Hey, 2A zealots!
Let’s talk about the 2nd Amendment for a second, shall we?
Gun lovers: “Shut up, Melissa Alano, you haven’t been relevant since Who’s The Boss & I’m just practicing my 2nd amendment rights. It’s my constitutional right to own guns. You can’t have my guns.”

“1. Hey, 2A zealots! Let’s talk about the 2nd Amendment for a second, shall we?” the washed up actress began. “Gun lovers: “Shut up, Melissa Alano, you haven’t been relevant since Who’s The Boss & I’m just practicing my 2nd amendment rights. It’s my constitutional right to own guns. You can’t have my guns.”
Honestly, she could have stopped right there. Yes, it’s codified in the second amendment. And yes, it’s Americans’ right to own guns and not hers to take them. Period. End of discussion.
Even if the second amendment didn’t exist, she’d be hard pressed to explain why people don’t have the God-given right to self-defense, so there’s that.
Undeterred, Milano continued:
“2. My response to all of you 2Aers is this,” she added. “If you’re in the National Guard, you can carry an M16. If you’re in your house defending your family, well, the Supreme Court said that’s OK too. You have the right to bear arms. BUT…AND IT IS A BIG F*CKING BUT…”
She did it again. She said “you have the right to bear arms” and she should have stopped right there. Our Creator endowed all of us with rights, and the Founders enshrined them. Again, end of discussion. There are no caveats to the right to self-preservation.
3. But…there’s nothing in 2A that prevents sensible regulation.
That’s why you’re not ‘practicing’ your constitutional right to bear arms w/ a pipe bomb or sarin gas or a Huey.
We the People get to decide how ‘well-regulated’ you are.

“3. But…there’s nothing in 2A that prevents sensible regulation,” Milano persisted. “That’s why you’re not ‘practicing’ your constitutional right to bear arms w/ a pipe bomb or sarin gas or a Huey. We the People get to decide how ‘well-regulated’ you are.”
Aside from the interesting conversation about owning a Huey, which seems perfectly reasonable, notice how she immediately switched from the idea of owning a gun to being able to carry sarin gas. No one is arguing for or against bearing sarin gas, whatever that means. It’s quite a weak, un-thought out argument if she has to deploy unrelated extremes.
“4. In closing, I ask gun zealots this: Don’t you want the country to be a safer place? For your loved ones? For your babies?” she tried pleading. “We only want regulation. We only want to ensure guns don’t get into the wrong hands. We only want to live in a country free of preventable gun violence.”
Milano has never worked a real day in her life, has no purpose or meaning in her own life, and is therefore prone to avenging those facts on everybody else.
If she and others of her ilk intend to pursue this line of thinking, they need to be aware of two facts and be prepared to address them. First, how do they reconcile the fact that all tyrannies begin by disarming their populations? Second, how do they reconcile the fact that criminals, by their definition, will not follow any of the proposed laws or regulations?
The only people hurt by further gun restrictions are the people who already abide by the law. The only groups of people who benefit from further restrictions are the government and criminals.
Aside from opening a dictionary to understand the word “infringe” and then applying that to the phrase “shall not infringe,” Milano would do well to walk outside and see how the real world works.
