The Iowa caucus has taken place, and it played out much like it was expected to as former President Donald Trump scorched the field on a frigid night in Iowa. The 30-point win wasn’t shocking, as Trump walloped Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, who finished second and third, respectively. Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump after finishing a distant fourth.
Despite the efforts of liberal politicians and prosecutors to hem up President Trump in hopes of disqualifying him from the race, his popularity has soared, particularly with a demographic that the Democrats have historically dominated. The black vote has long been considered a guarantee for Democrats, but after eight years of broken promises by Barack Obama and three years of suffering under Joe Biden, many folks are looking back at the Trump Administration and feeling nostalgic for cheap energy, affordable groceries, and relative world peace.
Perhaps realizing that the accusations against Trump are meritless and identifying with his persecution, black voters have been flocking to the former President’s defense, and numerous black celebrities have openly supported the GOP frontrunner. Many artists have openly talked of voting for Trump, including Kodak Black, Lil Pump, Waka Flocka Flame, and Azealia Banks, with Banks saying that electing Joe Biden again is “elder abuse.”
Waka Flocka Flame posted to his X account in October his intentions in no uncertain terms when he wrote “TRUMP2024.” As celebrities and other minorities continue to flock to Trump’s side, the establishment leftists that will vote for whatever the Democrats offer up continue to excoriate and criticize black folks who dare think for themselves. Most rappers that have voiced support for Trump have maintained their support, but one recently wavered under scrutiny while still ripping the Democrat party.
Rapper Benny the Butcher has been vocal in his criticism of the Democrat Party and even went as far as to say, “I’m votin Trump 2024” on X back in August. In a recent appearance on the popular Charlamagne tha God show “The Breakfast Club,” appeared to hedge when pressed on whether or not he still supported Trump. One thing was sure, however: Benny isn’t happy with the Democrats.
When pressed on whether or not he still intends to vote for the former president, what Benny the Butcher didn’t say spoke almost as loudly as what he did. He said: “No comment on that. People in our position ain’t supposed to speak on their political candidates. That’s what I learned. And I also learned everybody voting for Trump, y’know what I’m saying? Only president I voted for was Obama, so I really was just talking sh–.”
It’s clear that Benny has been put on notice by someone not to talk politics. However, despite his attempts to stay somewhat noncommital, what he said next echoed what so many minorities are feeling under the feckless Biden regime. Benny said: “A lot of times, African Americans — we vote Democrat and what the f— that been doing for us? That’s all I mean, like what the Democrats been doing for us? I was expressing my frustrations on that.”
Benny concluded by saying, “I don’t know who I’m voting for,” but the smart money says he already has his mind made up. The frustration with the Democrat party is palpable, and communities that were promised so much by Joe Biden have been ignored and let down for the last three years. There is considerable time left before the November election, but barring a miraculous economic turnaround, it appears many like Benny the Butcher will be walking away from the Democrats at the ballot box.
