In huge news announced on his Truth Social social media platform, President Donald Trump announced that he would be taking the fight to the Deep State and its lawfare apparatus by firing the thousands of US Attorneys who were hired during the “Biden Era.” The move makes sense given the lawfare attacks against Trump and his allies after the first Trump Administration.
As background, though the left is now panicking over President Trump’s big move against the lawfare bureaucracy, it is generally a standard procedure amongst presidential administrations to terminate US attorneys from a previous administration, particularly when the parties in control are changing as well.
Trump, in any case, began his post on Truth Social by justifying the move to terminate the “Biden Era” US attorneys, saying that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had been immensely politicized under the Biden Administration, saying, “Over the past four years, the Department of Justice has been politicized like never before.”
Then, turning to what he actually did, the president announced that he had moved to terminate all of the Biden Era attorneys still employed by the DOJ, and that his administration would be handling the firings. He said, “Therefore, I have instructed the termination of ALL remaining “Biden Era” U.S. Attorneys.”
Concluding the post, he said that the move was meant to clean house at the DOJ to ensure that, moving forward, America has a fair rather than politicized “Justice System.” He said, “We must “clean house” IMMEDIATELY, and restore confidence. America’s Golden Age must have a fair Justice System – THAT BEGINS TODAY!”
According to Reuters and Newsweek, the White House has already started handling the matter. In an email to US attorneys who hadn’t yet quit or been terminated, the White House said, “At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as U.S. Attorney is terminated, effective immediately.”
This isn’t all Trump has done. Even before entering office, Trump was hammering Jack Smith, who quit the DOJ before the Trump Administration began. Doing so, he commented on the immense cost of his investigation, along the huge human toll of the whole political persecution matter. Trump said, “The Stench of Deranged Jack Smith and his thugs is GONE. They were sent packing after spending over $100,000,000, destroying the lives of many people and families, who will never be the same again. Deranged Jack accomplished nothing, except to show what complete losers my political opponents are!!!”

In a second post, gloating over the fact the Jack Smith was gone from the DOJ and no longer able to conduct the investigation, which he referred to as a “Witch Hunt,” the president-elect said, “Deranged Jack Smith was fired today by the DOJ. He is a disgrace to himself, his family, and his Country. After spending over $100,000,000 on the Witch Hunt against TRUMP, he left town empty handed!”
Trump also fired all of the Justice Department officials who worked with Jack Smith. Speaking to CBS News about that, a DOJ official said, “Acting Attorney General James McHenry made this decision because he did not believe these officials could be trusted to faithfully implement the president’s agenda because of their significant role in prosecuting the president.”
