Famous actress Candace Cameron Bure recently addressed her family’s move out of Los Angeles. The “Full House” actress cited concerns such as safety as motivating factors for their move. Alongside Bure and her family, a noticeable number of other Hollywood stars have fled either Los Angeles or the entire state of California in recent years.
In an interview, Bure recently told Fox News Digital, “We didn’t feel safe anymore.” The actress added, “And that was the biggest reason that we moved.” Bure noted that she and her family were experiencing “quite a few problems” pertaining to fans coming onto their property with no respect for their privacy. “Not everyone in Hollywood lives behind guard gates, and we weren’t behind gates,” she said, highlighting their vulnerability.
The 48-year-old said that while the attention from fans may have been innocent and well-intentioned at times, it could quickly become overwhelming. “It’s amazing what people feel they can do,” Bure said. “And wanting to be a part of your life in some way. Some of it is innocent, some of it wasn’t. But it’s quite unnerving when you’re just trying to be a person and live life, and you don’t know what’s around the corner.”
Bure recently posted on Instagram, confirming that she would leave the City of Angels. “Many of you have asked, ‘Did you move?’ Yes.’” she said last month. “Why?’ Mostly for security reasons,” she added. “Also, family dynamics have changed. The kids don’t live in Los Angeles anymore. Mama will go where they go! I travel a lot. The seasons of life.”
Bure addressed rumors as to where she and her family were moving, with many suggesting she was relocating to popular destinations for ex-Californians, such as Texas or Tennessee. However, the actress denied the allegations, noting they are just moving north of Los Angeles and staying in the state.
“There have been all kinds of stories as to where we moved, and none of them are right,” she added in the Fox News interview. “None of them. We didn’t move to Nashville. We didn’t move to Texas. We’re actually still in California. We just moved up north. We’re no longer in Los Angeles.”
The “Full House” star noted that, as empty nesters, she and her family have a high degree of flexibility in determining where they take their life from here. Bure noted the desire to find new avenues for “fun” in her life.
“And I think at this stage of my life, because we’re kind of empty nesters, really, it’s about finding the new fun in our life and the things that we’re doing together or where we’re going to go and meeting new people and new friends,” she said, speaking about maintaining a strong marrriage. “And it … kind of never stops. It continues to evolve, and it’s what keeps it healthy.”
In recent years, Los Angeles has seen its population decline, as the city has been plagued with issues such as homelessness, crime, and an extremely high cost of living. Moreover, the state’s pandemic-era regulations led to a substantial number of residents leaving California altogether for more relaxed red states.
