First Lady Melania Trump issued a heartwarming message to the families of the recent Texas flood, showing her deep care for the American people. During her kind remarks, the first lady assured the survivors that the whole nation was grieving with them.
For context, over the July 4 weekend, unexpected rains caused the Guadalupe River to rise more than 30 feet in just a few hours. In the wake of the disaster, over 80 individuals were confirmed dead, with dozens more missing.
In any case, Melania began her address by offering her condolences to the victims, saying, “My deepest sympathy to all of the parents who lost beautiful young souls. Deepest sympathy from all of us to the community, to everybody who lost a loved one. We are grieving with you. Our nation is grieving with you.”
Describing her reaction to the destructive floods, the first lady explained, “We just met with the wonderful families. We pray with them, we hug, we hold hands. They share the stories. And I met beautiful young ladies. They gave me this special bracelet from the camp in honor of the all of the little girls that they lost their lives.”
Concluding her remarks, Mrs Trump offered prayers for the victims along with her sympathies. Melania stated, “So we are here to honor them and also to give the support help. And I “will be back, I promise to them, and I just pray for them and giving them my strength and love.”
Tragically, Democrats have tried to use the destructive floods as a part of their anti-Trump narrative. Leftists have claimed that a few minor layoffs at the National Weather Service left the agency understaffed and unable to help residents plan for the flooding properly.
As we reported, ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos claimed that “there were significant staffing shortfalls to the National Weather Service’s offices in the region.” However, Greg Waller declared that “The NWS forecasting offices were operating normally at the time of the disaster.”

Continuing to demolish the DNC narrative surrounding these floods, he denied that the NWS was underfunded, saying, “We had adequate staffing. We had adequate technology.” He continued, “This was us doing our job to the best of our abilities.” Agreeing, Tom Fahy, the legislative director for the National Weather Service Employees Organization, said, NWS staffing is adequate to issue timely forecasts and warnings before and during the emergency.”
Bolstering these arguments, popular weatherman Ryan Maue slammed Stephanopoulos’s claims as “Grotesque misinformation. NWS in Texas had extra staff on duty and did their jobs admirably, as always,” adding, “Democrats are leaning hard into narrative that National Weather Service in Texas botched the forecasts and warnings, leading to worse loss of life during the flood tragedy. Schumer accuses the NWS San Antonio office of ‘delays, gaps, or diminished accuracy.’ Gross.”

Concluding his remarks, Maue said, “Inexplicable why Democrats are continuing this political narrative when they know … and everyone knows … the National Weather Service performance was exemplary. There is no evidence to the contrary.”
