“We Are Eradicating Women”: Swimmer Slams “Science Deniers” Allowing Trans Athletes in Women’s Sports

Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” twelve-time NCAA All-American swimmer Riley Gaines hammered the people who she characterized as “science deniers” for allowing transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports.

“If you believe in science, you know there is man and woman. To deny that is to deny science, it’s to deny logic, it’s to deny reason and, quite frankly, common sense,” Gaines proclaimed on “America Reports.”

Continuing, Gaines noted that the push to add transgender people to everything has meant that many places are now barring words such as “motherhood” or “breastfeeding,” erasing women from the public sphere in the name of making transgenders feel more comfortable. Speaking about that, Gaines said:

“We are eradicating women as a whole. We’re changing dictionary definitions. We have a sitting Supreme Court justice who can’t define what it is to be a woman because she claims she’s not a biologist. I’m also not a biologist, but it doesn’t take one to acknowledge what a woman is and the struggles that we go through and we deserve to be celebrated on our own physical limitations.”

She then tore into the recent court decision which proclaimed that USA Powerlifting must allow transgenders to compete against women, saying:

“If there’s one sport where the difference between male and female in terms of sheer strength and athleticism would shine, it’s powerlifting. We know testosterone has an effect on performance, outcome and strength. Men, on average and this is not opinionated, it’s a fact, men on average are taller, they’re stronger, more powerful, faster than women. Again, to deny that is denying science. We have so much data and scientific evidence that prove this.”

She added that many people agree with her, even if they’re afraid to say so in public, telling “America Reports” that “I have parents, I have athletic directors, people within the NCAA, of course, so many athletes, both young and old, messaging me, constantly thanking me, telling me their stories, letting me know my story is not unique and telling me to fight on because that’s how the overwhelming majority of people who are directly impacted by this feel.”

Gaines also spoke about the transgender athlete issue during CPAC, decrying the left’s attack on women:

.@Riley_Gaines_: “Man & woman is the essence of humanity…it’s an attack on women. Women are in jeopardy here.”

    Riley is right.

Fortunately for Gaines and those who agree with her, the House GOP is fighting back with HR 734. It amends the Education Amendments of 1972 “to provide that for purposes of determining compliance with title IX of such Act in athletics, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” The text of the bill provides that:

“(d) (1) It shall be a violation of subsection (a) for a recipient of Federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.

“(2) For the purposes of this subsection, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.

“(3) Nothing in this subsection shall be construed to prohibit a recipient from permitting males to train or practice with an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls so long as no female is deprived of a roster spot on a team or sport, opportunity to participate in a practice or competition, scholarship, admission to an educational institution, or any other benefit that accompanies participating in the athletic program or activity.”.
