Recently, conservative activist Ben Bergquam confronted MSNBC host Joy Reid outside the New York City courthouse ahead of the Trump trial. Bergquam suggested that Reid suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), where one becomes irrationally irritated with former President Donald Trump.
Bergquam approached Reid, asking her, Joy, just wondering, do you think people with Trump Derangement Syndrome know they have it?” Reid looked at the conservative activist, seemingly perplexed, before stating, “You’re an idiot.”
He then took a jab at Reid’s hair, comparing it to Donald Trump’s signature look. He added, “And second question, did you steal trump’s haircut, or did he steal yours?” Reid doubled down, maintaining, “You’re a f**cking idiot!”
Bergquam continued, “Cultural appropriation haircut right there. She didn’t like that too much. Joy Reid everybody. Trump derangement syndrome, full swing.” The conservative wrote on X, along with the footage of the interaction, “EPIC video! Just got Trump-Deranged, Cultural-Appropriated-Hair, Joy Ann Reid as she was heading into the sham Trump trial in New York City! I don’t think she liked the questions!!! P.s. MSNBC is #Fakenews!”
The American Tribune recently reported on other news relating to Joy Reid. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) rebuked her comments about his race and political affiliation. Reid suggested that Donalds was merely a prop for the MAGA movement.
“The one Black guy that Republicans love to roll out as fake proof that Black people, the Blacks, are MAGA, they’re MAGA,” Reid said about the Florida congressman recently. “It’s a joke, and just as credible as when they said they were going to make that guy Speaker of the House.”
Donald addressed the critical remarks during a subsequent appearance on Fox News. “I find Joy’s comments to be nothing more than crabs in a barrel,” Donalds said. “Just because I have a different viewpoint, different way of looking at the world, different politics, now, all of a sudden, I’m being used. You can make an argument that MSNBC is using her.” Watch the interaction between Bergquam and Reid below:
Donalds continued, discussing how minority communities are growing tired of the state of America under the Biden administration. “You had a very diverse crowd, people from the Bronx, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Black people, White people, all there supporting President Trump, because they’ve seen the disaster that is New York City,” Donalds added. “They’ve seen the disaster that has come to the United States of America because of the master of disaster, Joe Biden himself, and they want Donald Trump back.”
The GOP representative further stated that Republicans are looking to be more inclusive to all Americans rather than exclude voters. “We’re looking at expanding the political map, not shrinking it based upon race or anything else, because that’s what Joy Reid and Joe Biden and the rest of them want to do,” Donalds said. “They want to shrink the political map based upon previous dogma and racial lines…That is not what President Trump’s focus is. His focus is on all of America.”
