The man making that heartfelt and heartwarming plea to the president while wearing a red MAGA hat was Denver Moore, a proud World War II veteran celebrating his 104th birthday on May 15, made a heartfelt plea on social media inviting President Trump to join his special day. As could be expected, the video exploded within ten days, garnering over 700,000 views on TikTok, proving that his simple yet powerful wish resonates deeply with everyday Americans.
Many of the reactions that poured in online in the wake of the video were messages of support from around the country, and staff at Danbury Senior Living facility in Massillon, Ohio, where Moore currently resides, received calls and messages from around the country, all eager to send cards, letters, and well-wishes to honor an extraordinary veteran.
As background, Moore’s incredible life is a real American journey. It began on a farm in Noble County, Ohio, and soon he found himself drafted into the military in 1942, pulling him out of the Hercules Engine Co., where he had been working. Following his heroic service during World War II, Moore embodied the American dream, spending decades as a dedicated employee of the U.S. Postal Service while raising a family.
Inviting the president to his sure-to-be fun party in the much-watched clip, the WWII veteran made sure to win the president over by noting he’s voted for him and wants to keep doing so! He said, “My name is Denver Moore, and I’m going to be 104 in May, and I’m inviting you to my birthday party on the 17th. Canal Fulton and I’m living in a rest home called Danbury, and I got to vote for you again, and I hope I can vote you for you some more.”
Supporting Mr. Moore in the clip was Allison Dudley, a close friend of Moore’s family. She not only recorded and posted the video but addressed the president as well, adding even more reason for the President to come to Ohio and celebrate, saying, “He’s a World War Two veteran, Army, Air Corps. You should come and visit him. He wants you here for his birthday.”
