Vice President JD Vance visited Hungary, where he met with and supported the nation’s nationalist and conservative leader, Viktor Orban, in a show of support for the embattled Hungarian Prime Minister, who many in MAGA think to be one of the few sane and realistic European leaders at present.
Predictably, Vice President Vance’s trip, which included fun moments like one at a rally at which he spoke in support of the prime minister, with the crowd roaring with applause as he phoned in to President Donald Trump to have the president speak to the crowd through the phone for a minute, set off the liberal media.
In fact, “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough went absolutely ballistic on Tuesday, April 7, over the fact that Vice President J.D. Vance had gone on a visit to Hungary at all, slapping the table and screaming as he angrily demanded that Republicans stand up to “Russian authoritarianism.”
Shouting as he absolutely lost his mind about the Vance trip, Scarborough insisted that Orban is tied in with Putin and should be shunned. He screamed, “Let’s talk about the collusion that’s going on right now between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin to elect Orban. You have, we had, last week, Michael Weiss on. They have a transcript of [Russian Foreign Minister Sergey] Lavrov talking to the foreign minister of Hungary, basically plotting and scheming to try to help Orban out before the election.”
Continuing, Scarborough ranted, slandering Viktor Orban and using those smears to attack President Trump and Vice President Vance, “You have Donald Trump doing everything he can to, to, to, to get Orban elected. You have J.D. Vance over there again, Mr. ‘Oh, We Believe in Western Civilization’ as I’m coming over here to drive a stake in the heart of Western civilization with the one guy who hates Western liberalism and brags about being illiberal and Vladimir Putin’s biggest friend, Vladimir Putin’s only hope in the EU. And you have Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin both working to the same end to elect the most anti-democratic thug, and he is a thug, in all of Europe.”
Still not done, Scarborough kept ranting and angrily pounded on the table, declaring, as he continued to scream and gesticulate wildly about what is essentially a small trip to an American ally, “Where are the Republicans? Where are the people that grew up, like, believing what I believed growing up, Richard?”
He then insisted that supporting moderate conservative leader Viktor Orban is incompatible with supporting Western civilization, declaring, “Where are the people that believe in the West, people that believe in Western democracy, people that believe in Western liberalism, people that believed in a free press, people that believed in a free election, people that believed in a strong West that pushed back against Russian authoritarianism? Where are those Republicans in the Senate? Where are they in the House? Where are they on television? Where is my tribe?”
