WATCH: Woke Senator Caught in Huge Corruption Scandal Freaks Out, Attacks DOGE

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) has been rocked with a massive corruption scandal after it was revealed that he may have diverted millions of taxpayer dollars to his wife’s climate-focused NGO, which paid her a lavish salary. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions, Whitehouse tried to divert attention by launching an all-out attack on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

For context, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a conservative watchdog, slammed the Democrat for the possible corruption involving his spouse. In their document, which was posted on February 25, 2025, they revealed,  “Yesterday, the non-partisan ethics watchdog, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), filed a complaint requesting the Senate Select Committee on Ethics investigate and take appropriate action on Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island.”

Following up with another blow to the stricken senator, FACT pointed out that Whitehouse may have violated the law. They wrote, “Sen. Whitehouse appears to have violated the Senate Ethics Rules on conflicts of interest by advocating and voting for legislation that resulted in nearly $7 million being paid in the fall of 2024 to an organization his wife works for.”

In another damning piece of evidence Kendra Arnold, Executive Director of FACT, wrote a bombshell statement on the controversy, he said “Senator Whitehouse advocated and voted for legislation that led to $6.9 million of taxpayer funds being paid to an organization that his wife works for and receives an income from. It is this type of circular relationship between a Senator and an organization that lobbies and pays his wife a salary that the public is rightfully fed up with.”

Despite the avalanche of evidence, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse decided to go on the offensive against DOGE. In a rant Rhode Island Democrat posted to X on March 27, 2025, he said, “Brown Health runs an institute of brain science… [and] they’re doing research in particular on Alzheimer’s, which, as you all know, is threatening to break our public health system if we can’t find a cure for it…what they are finding is that even in this otherwise noncontroversial program that looks into Alzheimer’s at one of the top brain research facilities in the world, they’re stalled and jammed up because they can’t get the regular grant applications, and the process moved timely through the system.”

The corrupt senator ended his rant by unfairly blaming DOGE for this slowdown: “So if this is DOGE’s version of efficiency, I’m not seeing it. It’s not efficient to compromise two and a half years of research just because somebody doesn’t want to fund LGBTQ research. It’s not efficient to slow down world-class brain research just because you like to jam up the gears.”

Senator Whitehouse’s unhinged rant mischaracterizes the facts and is a poor attempt to shift focus from his alleged financial impropriety. On February 25, 2025, Health and Human Services (HHS) voluntarily ended more than $350 million in funding for woke research at the National Institute of Health (NIH) with the help of DOGE. In their announcement, DOGE pointed to absurd wastes of money, such as a museum exhibit for the controversial Dr. Fauci.

Instead of canceling vital research, as the Senator claimed, DOGE  announced, “In the past 48 hours, HHS canceled 62 contracts worth $182 million. These contracts were entirely for administrative expenses—none touched any healthcare programs. This included terminating a $168,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci exhibit at the NIH Museum.”
