In a very woke and very tiresome screed delivered on Sunday, June 14, far-left actor Robert De Niro insisted that he can no longer love America because it is being led by President Donald Trump, and thus to say that he loves it would be like an abused spouse saying that they “love their abuser.”
Such came when De Niro appeared for an event called “Rise Up, Sing Out”. Taking place in New York City, the event was something of a counter-event meant to draw attention away from President Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 event at the White House, which featured, amongst other things, a UFC fight on the White House lawn.
So, during his speech, De Niro declared that he took issue with a letter that protested late-night host Jimmy Kimmel being taken off the air last September because of horrible remarks he made about Charlie Kirk, not because he wanted Kimmel taken off the air, but because of a line in the letter saying, “We love our country regardless of political affiliation.”
De Niro, commenting on that line, said that for a liberal to love America under Trump is like an abused spouse loving his or her abuser, declaring, “I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.”
Continuing, he insisted that he couldn’t love America because it has fought wars with which he disagrees, saying, “I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more.”
Further, he absurdly tried to lump in Trump with Epstein, an absolutely absurd statement given that Trump is the one guy who helped the police go after Epstein, saying, “I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class.”
Then, turning from that slander of the president to attacking ICE as being a “masked militia” that he suggested is randomly executing and torturing Americans, the far-left actor declared, “I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families.”

Finally concluding the rant by attacking Trump as a tyrant who has done and believes many bad things, the woke actor insisted, ‘I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant. And let me just say it: I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.”
Watch him here:
White House spokesman Steven Cheung fired back in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, “Robert DeNiro is a washed-up has-been who hasn’t been relevant in 30 years. Now, he just beclowns himself by spewing hate speech and inciting violence against others. Instead of embarrassing himself every time he speaks, he should seek immediate treatment for a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain.”
