Trump continues to set off the leftist media, with his recent comments on a potential border deal that the US Senate is working on driving them particularly up a wall. Such could be seen during the Monday, January 29, episode of MSNBC’s “The Reid Out,” during which host Joy Reid was caught muttering and cursing to herself in the midst of an angry diatribe about former President Trump.
That came when Reid was praising Biden for his supposed legislative accomplishments and arguing that the Republicans need to give him more credit. Then she lambasted former President Trump for remaining resolutely against the Senate’s reported border deal, one that President Biden has said he’ll sign and is necessary to defend the border, but which Republicans find entirely unacceptable.
Trump, for reference, told the crowd at his Las Vegas rally, “The so-called border security deal Biden is gushing out and pushing out is not designed to stop illegal immigration. It’s designed to continue the invasion of America while sending billions of dollars to Ukraine and other countries.” Continuing, he said, “The fact is that if Joe Biden truly wanted to secure the border, he doesn’t really need a bill. I didn’t need a bill. I did it without a bill. I did it with the current laws. I used Border Patrol.” He added, “There is zero chance I will support this horrible open-border betrayal of America. It’s not going to happen. And I’ll fight it all the way.”
That set Reid off. Speaking about it on “The Reid Out,” she snapped, referring to Trump’s comments about the Senate deal being a bad one for Republicans, “Case in point– fixing what they say is a crisis at the border with congressional negotiators continuing work on a bipartisan deal to tie border policy changes to funding for Ukraine.”
Continuing, she praised President Biden for his comments about being willing to strike the deal, saying, “Over the weekend, President Biden said he’s ready to take action if Congress is serious about solving the border issue.”
She then played a clip of Biden saying as much. In the clip, Biden said, “What’s been negotiated would — if passed into law — be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country. It would give me, as president, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed. And if given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law.”
It was as that clip played that Reid, muttering to herself, belted out an f-bomb that was caught by her hot mic. She said, “Starting another fuckin’ war.” That was presumably a reference to the situation in the Middle East, which appears to many to be spiraling out of control and toward another major war. Reid later apologized to viewers for her vulgar language on air, saying, “Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly. I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my ‘behind the scenes’ chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”
