In a disgraceful show of anti-Trump bias, Scott Pelley, a CBS/60 Minutes journalist, gave a commencement address at Wake Forest University. In his insane rant, the woke journalist delivered a hysterical speech criticizing Donald Trump and supposed threats to democracy, journalism, universities, and free speech, warning of an “insidious fear” spreading through the nation.
For context, Donald Trump has consistently fought against the mainstream media’s woke bias and slammed journalists as the true enemy of the American people. While Democrats have long been able to take advantage of favorable coverage, Trump has been forced to deal with decades of unfair and hysterical coverage despite his widespread popularity.
In any case, conservatives broke the story with a post to X on May 25, 2025. The user wrote, “🚨CBS/60 Minutes’ Scott Pelley raged at Trump in angry, unhinged commencement address at Wake Forest…As he speaks openly and freely in America. This self-important, sermonizing propagandist is what passes for a legacy media ‘journalist.'”
In the controversial video, the biased journalist said, “But in this moment, this moment, this morning,
our sacred rule of law is under attack. Journalism is under attack; universities are under attack. Freedom of speech is under attack, and insidious fear is reaching through our schools, our businesses, our homes, and into our private thoughts.”
Describing this supposed fear, Pelley whined, “the fear to speak in America, power can rewrite history with grotesque, false narratives. They can make criminals heroes and heroes criminals. Power can change the definition of the words we use to describe reality. Diversity is now described as illegal. Equity is to be shunned. Inclusion is a dirty word. This is an old playbook, my friends.”
Slamming the absurd allegations of this biased journalist, conservatives took to the comments to explain the true story. One such comment said, “Did Scott Pelley mention that 60 Minutes edited Kamala’s campaign interview, and they helped her answer questions ??? Until he does that, his credibility is ZERO.” Building on this point, another asked, “Did Scott Pelley bother to mention that he spread malicious anti-Trump disinformation that elevated Covid fraud Peter Daszak, derailed the origins investigation, and sabotaged the public health response? What a disgrace of a man.”
Clapping back with an epic rebuke, one conservative posted, “@ScottPelley Your ability to stand at that podium in front of thousands of people attempting to inspire soon to be graduates to go forth to make their mark fell flat.”

Continuing, the same user stated, “Perhaps you would have fared better had you balanced your remarks to include how that ability to speak freely in America resulted in a turn-around election despite 60 Minutes often one-sided editing of ‘news’ features like the Kamala Harris interview,” adding, “In the end, how much will that cost CBS in money, audience viewership and professional integrity?”

Rounding out the comments, one reply noted the blatant double standard. The comment read, “Insidious fear has been seething from our colleges & universities for decades now in the form of “Political Correctness,” “DEI,” “Woke,” etc.. @ScottPelley”
