Speaking in an emotional diatribe when it was time for her to leave her show on MS NOW, formerly called MSNBC, host Stephanie Ruhle told viewers that she had been affected by shakeups at the network and would be leaving her show, The 11th Hour, to host a different one within the network. The changes took effect on June 15.
She was moved to the ridiculously titled, “Money, Power, Politics with Stephanie Ruhle”. So, whereas she had been a host of a live program that aired during one of the peak viewing periods, she got lumped by the move to a program in the mid-morning, which is generally considered a less prestigious posting in the cable new media.
So, Ruhle had to announce that in mid-June of this year, doing so as she closed out her. “The Eleventh Hour” show. Taking a moment to pause before doing so, she said, “All right, it is time.” She then continued, “Now. I’m going to have to take a deep breath for my MVP. And my MVP is all things ‘The 11th Hour.’ This show. Our team. And especially you, our audience.”
Continuing with that, she claimed that her audience watches her closely and claimed to have a unique relationship with them, saying, “You don’t have this program on in the background . . . Instead, you are choosing to invite us into your home every night — sometimes giving me the privilege of being the last voice you hear before you go to sleep.” She added, “And I take that privilege seriously. So to you, I say thank you.”
That, in turn, led to MS NOW airing a montage showing her memorable moments on the program as she kept quiet. The retrospective of her top moments soon finished, and Ruhle then moved to introduce the person who took over for her, Ali Velshi, a fellow leftist at the notoriously woke cable news network.
Revealing that Velshi would be replacing her in the late-night TV slot, she said, “And I’m grateful to be leaving you all in such capable hands.” She added, putting as cheery a face on it as she could, “My good friend and colleague of many years, my partner in crime, Ali Velshi, will be taking over the ‘11th Hour’ anchor chair on Monday.”
Going still further and praising her replacement, she then said, “Ali is smart. He’s insightful. And most importantly, he cares. He’s committed to the facts and never stops believing in the promise of this country.” She added, “So many times Ali has been my rock. And now he can be yours, too.” She concluded, “Ali — I can’t wait to see what you do with the place.”

Ruhle got emotional as she announced the news, and indeed some of her fans got emotional online too. For example, one commenter on X said, “Stephanie Ruhle ending of her last show the 11th Hour on Ms Now. I started crying 😭 because I watch her every single night. She will start working in the day time at 9 am on Ms Now instead.” Watch Ruhle’s announcement here:
