WATCH: Woke Gun Control Supporter Physically Attacks GOP Rep During Hearing

In a disgraceful breach of decorum, former Tennessee State Rep. Justin J. Peterson seemingly lunged at Rep. Andrew Farmer after a contentious hearing on gun control, where the Democrat melted down with typical woke theatrics.

For context, Justin J. Pearson represents District 86 in the Tennessee State House, representing parts of Memphis. He gained national attention after the horrific Covenant School shooting in Nashville, where he shamelessly leveraged the tragedy for political gain alongside two other far-left activists, who became infamous as the “Tennessee Three.”

Starting his over-the top rant, which was recorded on March 31, 2025, Peterson whined, “The Tennessee House of Representatives, it is a pathetic excuse for you to not answer the question of why we are doing nothing about the gun violence epidemic than to personally attack me, but let me explain to you what I have been doing, representatives since you asked my brother Tim Prince Darnell Peterson, one of the loves of my life passed away from gun suicide on December 1 of 2024.”

Continuing his melodramatic screed, the Democrat said, “Since that happened, it shattered my family like gun violence has shattered so many families and shattered my nephew’s life, my mother, my father, my other brothers who are remaining. I buried my brother. I planned for his entire funeral. My fiancé made (sic) his obituary. I made sure that he was taken care of, even in death.”

Still not done, the disrespectful  Democrat said, “So while you’ve been here, passing bills that have been hurting transgender children, while you’ve been here, passing bills that have been hurting the poor, hurting the marginalized, hurting the disenfranchised, while you’ve been here, passing bills that have not ended poverty, while you’ve been here, passing bills that have not helped people who need Medicaid expansion.”

At this point, the chair attempted to restore order and began to try to wrap up the rant. However, Peterson continued undetered saying, “While you’ve been here doing the hard work of making sure that our state is not the state that it can be, because you have decided,” Clearly annoyed, one of the Republicans joked, “Representative Peterson seems to understand my life better than I do.”

Continuing, Peterson stated, “You need to understand that hard work isn’t just sitting there and setting up and passing a bill. It’s doing the hard work of justice. And it’s standing in front of people who you know may not like you, staying in front of people who you know will disrespect you.”

Fed up with the theatrics, Rep Farmer shut down the unruly Democrat with an epic retort. He said, “[Mr.]  Peterson, it seems that it’s very common in your party when you disagree with a comment, that you resort to yelling.”

At this point, the meeting descended into chaos, and the infamous Democrat moved across the room, seemingly intent on a physical confrontation. The exchange prompted Derek Evans, a candidate for West Virginia Senate, to remark, “I would have hit him right in the mouth if he did this to me.”
