WATCH: Woke Democrat Accuses Trump of Being “Corrupt” in Protecting American Interests

In a ridiculous and eye-roll-inducing interview on CNN, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) insisted that President Donald Trump’s “entire foreign policy is corrupt” because the operation in Venezuela was meant to secure valuable resources abroad, an absolutely ridiculous claim given that the purpose of involvement abroad is to secure national advantage, and that those resources in Venezuela had originally been stolen from American companies. The interview came on Sunday, January 4.

As background, over the night of January 2 to January 3, the United States Army’s elite Delta Force unit captured Venezuela’s corrupt and illegitimate President Nicolas Maduro out of Caracas, managing to nab him without suffering a casualty. In the wake of the raid, President Trump announced that America would be reclaiming oil extraction assets that had been stolen by the Chavez regime during a nationalization incident.

Trump, announcing the operation on Truth Social on the early morning of January 3, said, “The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow.”

Sen. Murphy totally freaked out when he appeared on CNN to discuss the matter, saying that because President Trump cares about recovering stolen assets, the entire operation was “corrupt”. He said, “This seems to be mostly about oil and natural resources. Donald Trump’s entire foreign policy is corrupt.”

Continuing, he insisted that because money can be made off of oil, it is very bad that we stopped the anti-American socialist from running the country, saying, “Russia, the Middle East and now Venezuela is all about making money for his friends and Wall Street, the oil industry. They can make a lot of money off of Venezuela if they run it.”

He added that the interest of American corporations and investors in the country’s oil assets is further proof of how “corrupt” the operation was, saying, “You saw within hours of the invasion the announcement of a group of Wall Street investors, energy industry investors planning a trip to Venezuela to make money off of this invasion, off of this ouster. So, unfortunately, once again, you’re seeing that this president’s foreign policy, the invasion of Venezuela, the ouster of Maduro, is about making his crowd filthy rich. It has nothing to do with American national security.”

He then added, “Congress needs to own its it’s its own role in allowing a presidency to become this lawless. The fact of the matter is that the president’s justification makes no sense here. He says that this was just a law enforcement operation. Well, there are people with warrants all over the world that doesn’t give the president, United States, the power to launch $1 billion invasion of those countries, to bring a fugitive to justice.”

Concluding, he insisted, “Yes, Congress should have stepped in and either authorized or prohibited President Obama’s actions in Libya. Yes, the United States Congress has sat on the sidelines to allow presidents to become more and more powerful in foreign policy. But that doesn’t mean that it suddenly gives a imprimatur of legality to this massive invasion of a foreign country that the American public didn’t ask for.”
