If there’s one thing that makes the average person even less interested in a celebrity having a kid or kids, it’s that comedian using the kid to push some leftist, Hollywood talking point. Whether a version of the infamous, “My five-year-old asked why Republicans hate the reproductive rights of women” post or something else,” it’s ridiculous to hear coming from anyone, much less a vapid celebrity.
But, such is what leftist comedian Iliza Shlesinger did with a recent “gender reveal” post on X (formerly Twitter), telling the uncaring world that her unborn baby will be a boy and lecturing all who saw her post on “climate change.”
In the post, Schlesinger said, “WE’RE SO EXCITED… that no one had to die when we made the announcement! Remember, save the planet, our kids have to live here. Can’t wait to welcome our baby boy in February 2024! Sierra and Tian Fu are waiting with so many toys!”
In the video attached to the post, Schlesinger said, “If you didn’t know balloons were bad before, that’s okay, because we all know now. Global warming is such a huge issue, and there’s not a lot you can do. But the least you can do is not release balloons, selfishly, into the air — that come down into our nature and our waterways, killing our marine life.”
Continuing to lecture parents about how to celebrate having kids in a way she approves of, Schlesinger said, “The least you can do is not rent a private plane to spread napalm in pink and blue all over your entire neighborhood. And the very least you can do is not inadvertently commit arson by hodgepodging together homemade pyrotechnics that will burn down your community.”
This isn’t the first time Schlesinger has made her stance on climate change clear. In 2020, she claimed to be against cancel culture to attack Trump and people with the wrong opinion. Speaking on the matter, she said, “We need to chill with canceling everyone because soon … there will be no one. I think we should support people who change their opinion for the right reasons. It means they cared enough to read a book, or to talk to a person who’s different from them, and they’re trying to do better. But like, low key, if you used to think Climate Change wasn’t real and now you do, I still don’t wanna hang out with you.”
She also said, attacking Trump while making it clear that she’s not for free speech and is instead just against her friends or ideological allies getting canceled for things they said, “And look, there are people who actually want to hurt others and have a pattern of saying horrible things and using a social platform to spread hate. So, yeah, roast those people over the open flames of social judgment. Roast them, roast them right out of the Oval Office.”
Here’s that post:
