WATCH: Whoopi Goldberg Melts Down after Trump Side-Steps Gag Order with Clever Tactic

Former President Donald Trump had a gag order placed on him by Judge Merchan in the “hush money” case brought against him by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, with the gag order meant to stop Trump from commenting on aspects of the case. Judge Merchan even threatened Trump with jail times if he continues ignoring the gag order, as fines don’t seem to be stopping him.

Trump, in an impromptu press conference, tried dodging the gag order by reading what others were saying about him, namely what even left-leaning media outlets like CNN had included in their reports and opinion pieces or interviews on his case. That was a sly tactic that set off hosts on “The View,” including Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin.

Trump, during the presser, recited from CNN remarks far-left Michael Moore made, quoting Moore as saying, “the proof of falsifying records has not been accomplished.” Continuing, Trump referenced what Good Morning America had said about paying legal expenses not being indicative of any wrongdoing. He said, “The legal expense that we paid was put down as legal expense. There’s nothing else you could say.”

Speaking for himself on the check allegedly used for the “hush money” payment, Trump said, “The check was signed. This was approved by all agencies. Everybody saw this. There was nothing being hidden at all.” Continuing, he quoted a commentator on NBC’s Today Show who said, “there is no smoking gun, no email or tape to prove the President’s intent.”

And, after quoting a legal op-ed from Fox News about his case, Trump claimed that legal scholars have said DA Bragg has “absolutely no case” against Trump. He said, “All that’s going on, they have no case. Every single legal scholar that I see… has said there’s absolutely no case. It’s a case that shouldn’t have been brought.”

Trump added, commenting on the case and DA Bragg having brought it, “The previous DA wouldn’t bring it. Brad didn’t want to bring it, and he brought it because I’m running in number one place. This all comes out of the White House and crooked Joe Biden.”

Responding to Trump’s attempt to side-step the gag order by quoting the news, “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg attacked Trump and claimed he was “a snowflake,” saying, “So as we speak, Stormy Daniels is on the stand testifying in the criminal fraud trial of you-know-who. And he was out there whining outside. He is such a snowflake. ‘Oh my gosh, it’s all so mean to me.’”

Continuing, she attacked him for trying to dodge the gag order, snapping, “When they give you a gag order, they’re ordering you to shut up. See? And because that’s what they’re ordering you to do, and you’re not following the rules like you haven’t before, that’s why your behind is in court now.”

Agreeing, fellow “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said, “I’m sort of conflicted about whether or not he should be held in contempt and put in jail for it, but I do think that 71% of Americans have said that he should be put in jail if he is convicted.”
