WATCH: Watters Totally Roasts Tarlov to Her Face with Joke about Gavin Newsom

In a hilarious interaction captured on the popular Fox News program The Five, Jesse Watters sparred with Jessica Tarlov over the possible electoral prospects of California Governor Gavin Newsom by using humor and mock outrage.

Watters began the interaction by asking Tarlov about whether Newsom would face struggles gathering support from Democrats, given that he is a straight white man, prompting her to joke that she’s “Very into straight white men,” given her husband’s demographics.

In any case, the clip began with Jesse Waters asking, “And [Gavin Newsom’s] a straight white man. Is that gonna be a problem, Jessica?” Responding, Tarlov stated, “I am very into straight white men myself. I married one…”

Interjecting, Greg Guttfied jabbed, “How dare you… You are now into straight white men?” Prompting Tarlov to clarify,  “Not exclusively. I like everybody, I guess, but I married one.” Seeing an opportunity for a joke, Waters pounced.

“Is he Christian?” the Fox News anchor asked. Jessica Tarlov responded,  “Brian was raised Catholic.” Promping Waters to ironically point out, “Ok, just checking…” closing out the humorous segment, which highlighted the puritanical nature of the left.

Explaining the situation and the deliberately humorous tone, one comment stated, “They’re joking around, and Jessica played it perfectly. The Left acts scandalized by ‘straight white men’ while still voting for elitists like Newsom.”

Another joked, “So funny to watch liberals squirm when faced an easy question. We can’t make anyone mad lol… life losers.” Likewise, another quipped, “She’s definitely not checking any of the mandatory appropriate democrat boxes.”

This is far from the only criticism swirling around Gavin Newsom as he eyes a potential 2028 presidential bid. Speaking recently, President Trump urged Newsom to cooperate with the administration in their immigration efforts.

“Gavin is a good guy and if he needed it, I would do it in a heartbeat. We did help them a lot in Los Angeles,” Trump said to the press, “I will say this, if I were a Democratic Governor or whatever I would call up Trump. I would say come in. Make us look good because we’re cutting crime down to nothing,”

However, the irritating California Democrat was unable to take the compliment. “It was remarkably boring. It was remarkably insignificant,” Newsom confided to CNN after Trump’s comments. “Even by Trump’s standards, I was rather curious, and there were boorish parts of it, but those were not even that consequential,” Newsom stated.

Firing back, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant delivered a withering rebuke. He vowed, The Trump administration is coming to California. We are going to crack down on waste, fraud and abuse. Governor Newsom — who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ben — may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris,” he added.

Likewise, Under Secretary of Education Nicholas Kent hinted at massive education fraud in the state, saying, “They never intend to take classes and to graduate. They enroll for the sole purpose of defrauding the federal student aid program.”
