Speaking during a recent rally, Senator and 2024 Trump running mate JD Vance sounded off on the answers given in a recent interview hosted by Fox News Channel and conducted by FNC host Bret Baier, torching Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris sat for, hammering her for what she said during the interview.
As background, VP Harris not only rambled and gave incoherent answers during the interview that were fact-checked by Bret Baier, but at one point even started shouting about “democracy” when former President Donald Trump and his comments about internal enemies came up. The interview went so badly that aides for Kamala were allegedly begging her to stop it.
It was that interview about which JD Vance spoke, joking that it was so bad that even he felt bad for her given how disastrous it was. He said, “Did you all see that interview with Brett Baier? Wow, wow. That made me feel pretty bad. It felt, felt bad for her, and I felt bad for every single person who was watching.”
Continuing, he commented on the disasters of the Biden-Harris Administration, saying, “Because remember, you know, Kamala Harris, we’re going to remember that the entire theme of her campaign is basically her pretending that she doesn’t even know who Joe Biden is. Don’t pay attention that high inflation. Don’t pay attention to that wide open southern border, because Kamala Harris will tell you it’s not her fault.”
Building on that same point and tying it to the absurd promises Kamala has made on the campaign trail, he said, “She doesn’t even, she’s never even seen Joe Biden. That’s what she’ll go out there and tell people, she’ll she’ll stand up in front of in front of crowds, without a hint of shamelessness, and say, ‘On day one, we’re going to fix the inflation crisis affecting American families on day one, we’re going to lower the price of groceries. On day one, we are going to secure that southern border.'”
Noting just how ridiculous those claims are given that she has been in the administration for three and a half years now, and yet the opposite of what she claims will happen has happened, he said, “And anybody with a lick of common sense is saying, ‘Kamala, day one was 1400 days ago. What the hell you been doing that whole time? Go do your job.'”
Returning to the interview, he said, “So, so Brett Baier, Brett Baer asked her, ‘well, the American people were saying they want to turn the page. And that is, in fact, a theme of your campaign. They want to turn the page. Well, who are they turning the page on? Because you’ve been the vice president for the past three and a half years.’ And you know what she said? She started talking about Trump. She is pathologically incapable of talking about the American future without talking about a person who hasn’t been president for three and a half years.” Watch Vance here:
That isn’t all he said, however. Building on that, he turned to Trump and contrasting him with Kamala, Vance continued, saying, “And look, I wish that he had been president for the three past three and a half years. We would have had all these problems. But Kamala Harris, it is so shameless, and something I think most politicians wouldn’t be able to do, to stand up there and run so far away from the record that she bears a lot of responsibility for.”
Describing why the election is important, he then said, “And I think if this election is about anything in 19 days, it’s about Pennsylvanians saying we’re voting for our future. We’re voting for prosperity, for our children, and we’re sure as hell not giving Kamala Harris a promotion to President United States.”
And, bringing it home to the audience specifically, Vance said, “Now I want to just talk a little bit here about not just the affordability crisis that’s affecting Pennsylvania families, but how we’re going to make it better. Because think about this, in just three and a half years, the price of housing in Pennsylvania has gone up about 40% the price of eggs has gone from about a buck 50 to well north of $3 for a dozen eggs. The price of groceries, writ large, is up about 25% because of Kamala Harris’s policies. And we all know, my friends, this is not rocket science if you want to lower prices on American families. The most important thing that we need to do is unleash Pennsylvania energy workers drill baby drill at a lower prices for all of us.”
Drawing it back to a national level, he said, “And I asked sometimes, you know, what’s the connection between energy and groceries, energy and housing? And it’s the answer, is, everything, because energy is the biggest cost of what most of us make. If you think about the truck driver who’s getting the groceries to the grocery store, if he’s paying 50% more for diesel, then you’re paying a lot more for your groceries. Or thinking about the construction worker who’s getting lumber delivered to a construction site, the guy who’s delivering that is paying 50% more for gasoline. That means you’re paying more for a house.”
