WATCH: USAID Exposed for “Borderline Treason” in Fabricating Hoax Evidence Used against Trump

The taxpayer-funded USAID organization was exposed as having committed “borderline treason” by Rep. Thomas Massie and journalist Michael Shellenberger in an explosive hearing that took place in mid-February of this year before the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

In the hearing, titled “Eliminating Waste by the Foreign Aid Bureaucracy,” Shellenberger exposed a great many of USAID’s sins, including the fact that it is behind online censorship campaigns of the sort that covered up the Hunter Biden laptop story, and that it is well known as a “hub of fraud and abuse.” He and Massie also commented on the alleged treason it has committed.

The comment on treason came when, at one point during his testimony given to the House in the hearing, Shellenberger noted that USAID had funded and pushed along other groups, such as the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), that were behind the made up material used for the Russia Hoax and related Trump impeachment.

Explaining what that news organization was, Shellenberger first said that it was “a supposedly independent investigative news organization called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which appears to have effectively operated as an arm of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).”

He further added, showing just how intertwined USAID and OCCRP were, “In a 2024 documentary that German television broadcaster NDR made about OCCRP’s dependence on the US government, a USAID official confirmed that USAID approves OCCRP’s ‘annual work plan’ and approves new hires of ‘key personnel.’”

And, noting that a fake story published by OCCRP about Guiliani and Ukrainian businessmen led to the impeachment of Trump, he said, “The OCCRP story was crucial to the House Democrats’ impeachment claim, which is that Trump dispatched Giuliani as part of a coordinated effort to pressure a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, which is why the whistleblower cited it four times.”

Then, having explained that the OCCRP was involved in fabricating the Russia Hoax and impeachment information, Shellenberger said, “As such, it appears that CIA, USAID, and OCCRP were all involved in the impeachment of President Trump in ways similar to the regime change operations that all three organizations engage in abroad. The difference is that it is highly illegal and even treasonous for CIA, USAID, and its contractors and intermediaries, known as “cut-outs,” to interfere in US politics this way.”

Later in the hearing when asked about the impeachment evidence pushed by USAID and its media arm by Rep. Thomas Massie, Shellenberger again noted that USAID had been involved in fabricating information used for the impeachment, something Massie took pains to point out.

Rep. Massie, posting about the matter after the fact, said, “USAID funded an organization that fabricated evidence which was used to impeach President Trump. The Deep State frequently funds regime change efforts abroad, but when it uses taxpayer money to undermine our own government, isn’t that treason?”
