Country music superstars Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean decided to temporarily trade in the stage for the White House briefing room, each taking a turn at standing behind the podium ahead of a tour stop in the nation’s capital. The visit then transformed into a mock press briefing with Bryan taking the podium and pretending to take questions as Aldean, along with his wife Brittany, and several others looked on.
A video clip of the playful interaction was captured on video and posted by President Donald Trump’s social media team on Instagram, taking a lighthearted jab at Bryan’s time behind the microphone just several days ahead of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s departure from the administration. The account included a caption along with the clip.
“@lukebryan heard that there is an opening for Press Secretary 🤣 @karolineleavitt,” the caption read. The video kicks off with Aldean stepping away from the podium and Bryan switching places with him. Bryan then pretends to slide into the role as press secretary, pretending to offer an answer about an agricultural issue in Texas.
“I think the screwworms are screwed,” Bryan went on to say. “We’ve immobilized sterile male flies,”he continued, before pointing jovially at a woman in the room who clapped during his answer. “See! I’ve been listening to our conversations!” The country star’s answer concerns New World screwworms, which are a parasitic livestock threat, according to a report from Fox News.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has, in times past, used sterile flies to help stop the spread of screwworms. Later during his visit, Bryan met with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. Both singers were in Washington, D.C. for the tour they are co-headlining, “Double Down Tour,” with a show scheduled to take place at Nationals Park.
Bryan also took some time to meet with Vice President JD Vance before he and Aldean made a stop by the briefing room. Aldean has openly expressed his support for President Donald Trump and his agenda, but Bryan has kept his views mostly private and out of the public spotlight. Bryan caught flack in 2022 when he brought Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on stage during a concert held in Jacksonville after Hurricane Ian.
Bryan made it clear that the appearance had little to do with his political views and more raising money to help hurricane victims. “I’ve generally stayed out of politics throughout my career,” he said in a post published on X. He then added that when a governor asks you to help raise awareness for victims of a deadly natural disaster, “you help.”

The country singer has openly expressed his reluctance to get into controversial topics due to the insanity of the comment section. Aldean on the other hand, publicly referred to Trump as a friend and even dedicated a song to him following the July 2024 assassination attempt that took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. The song was called “Try That In A Small Town.”
