In an epic moment during her confirmation hearing on Thursday, January 30, Tulsi Gabbard, who is President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence nominee, sounded off on the Deep State in epic fashion, declaring that she would overhaul the intelligence services to end their weaponization against domestic political enemies.
Such is what Gabbard did at the very beginning of her appearance, using her opening statement to comment on how the so-called “intelligence community” had been weaponized against enemies of the regime-approved Democratic Party, with people like President Donald Trump and Tulsi herself feeling its wrath.
Doing so, Tulsi told the Senate Intelligence Committee that America has long suffered the failures of a weaponized and fault-prone intelligence establishment, saying, “For too long, faulty, inadequate, or weaponized intelligence has led to costly failures and the undermining of our national security.
Continuing, she pointed to the 2003 invasion of Iraq as being a prime example of the “intelligence community” doing a terrible job and causing immense, unnecessary suffering as a result. Doing so, she said, “The most obvious example of one of these failures is our invasion of Iraq based upon a total fabrication or complete failure of intelligence.”
Further, she commented preemptively on the sort of smears she faces because of her hostility to corruption and weaponization within the intelligence establishment. Introducing what sort of awful smears she faces, Tulsi said, “You may hear lies and smears in this hearing that challenge my loyalty to and love for our country.”
Continuing, she said, exposing the sort of smears used by the Deep State to attack it’s critics, “Those who oppose my nomination imply that I am loyal to something or someone other than God, my own conscience and the Constitution of the United States, accusing me of being Trump’s puppet, Putin’s puppet, Assad’s puppet, a guru’s puppet, Modi’s puppet — not recognizing the absurdity of simultaneously being the puppet of five different puppet masters.”
At another point, Tulsi exposed the Deep State’s attempts to torpedo President Trump, saying, “The American people elected Donald Trump not once but twice, and yet the American intelligence agencies were politicized by his opponents to undermine his presidency and falsely portray him as a puppet of Vladimir Putin.”

Building on that, she noted that the intelligence community enemies of President Trump had abused Section 1 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to spy on him, and doing so, “illegally obtained a warrant to spy on Trump’s campaign advisor Carter Page using a Clinton campaign-funded false dossier as their so-called evidence.”
She further noted that the same intelligence types lie repeatedly and shamelessly, pointing to James Clapper, who, in 2013, claimed that the federal government did not collect Americans’ “phone and internet records” without warrants, a lie under oath. Tulsi pointed out that Clapper “was never held accountable.”
Further, Gabbard hammered Trump Derangement Syndrome-afflicted former CIA Director John Brennan, noting, “Under [former director] John Brennan, the CIA abused its power to spy on Congress, to dodge oversight, and lied about it until he was caught, and yet has never been held responsible.” Then, after noting that she has faced a weaponized intelligence community, much as Trump has, she said, “Sadly, there are more examples. The bottom line is this: This must end.” Watch her here:
