Speaking during his rally in Schnecksville, PA, on the night of Saturday, April 13, former President Donald Trump tore into current President Joe Biden. Particularly, he argued, while pointing to the foreign policy disasters that occurred under his watch and the persistent problem with inflation America has experienced since 2021, that everything President Biden “touches turns to sh*t.”
Trump’s remarks on the matter came amidst Iranian retaliation against Israel for an early April Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria. Iran responded with long-range, slow-moving drones and cruise missiles, almost all of which were shot down before they could strike Israel. That fight came in the wider context of Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Former President Trump, mentioning that attack when speaking during the rally, said, “Before going any further, I want to say God bless the people of Israel.” He continued, blaming “weakness” in America’s leadership for the Iranian attack and saying, “They’re under attack right now. That’s because we show great weakness.”
Continuing, he went on to say that the attack wouldn’t have occurred under his watch and that America is praying for those under attack. He said, “America prays for Israel. We send our absolute support to everyone in harm’s way. This is an attack that would not have happened. I mean, to think about what we have to go through and the things we put up with, with the border, with no energy independence.”
Trump then pledged that, when he is re-elected in November, he will “revive American strength abroad,” a clear dig at Biden over the disaster in Afghanistan and increasingly problematic situations in the Middle East and Ukraine. He added that he would “rebuild the greatest economy in the history of the world.” T
Turning to inflation and the Biden Administration’s handling of it, Trump said, “First of all, Crooked Joe, he claimed inflation was transitory, remember that? Then he said, ‘Oh, it’s temporary’, then he said, ‘it won’t happen, it really won’t happen.’” He added, “And then he said, ‘Well, it’s much higher than expected,’ and then the supply chain slows, and then the energy went through the roof.”
He then called President Biden “Crooked Joe Biden” and blamed him for the “nightmare,” saying, “All of America knows that the real blame for this nightmare lies with one person. Crooked Joe Biden.” Doubling down on the “crooked” allegations, he said, “As crooked as you can get. That’s why the people of Pennsylvania are going to tell crooked Joe, ‘You’re fired get out! You’re fired!’”
Arguing that Biden has gone wrong at every step, Trump alleged, “He’s done everything wrong. Think of it, we’ve been in this mess together for three and a half years. Only a little more than six months until that most important day in the history of our country, November 5th. Think of that. But, what has he done that’s good? Nothing. Has anything that he’s done turned out? Everything he touches turns to sh*t.”
Then, pledging to help get America out of the inflation hole it’s in by revitalizing the American energy sector, Trump said, “When I’m back in the White House, we will end Joe Biden’s inflation train wreck and we will tell Pennsylvania, drill, baby, drill. Get back to drilling. Under my leadership, we had energy independence, and soon we would have had energy dominance.”
