WATCH: Trump Threatens to Strip Sanctuary City of Prestigious Sporting Event

Speaking during a media session that mainly centered around his meeting with Argentinian President Javier Milei at the White House on Tuesday, October 14, President Donald Trump threatened to strip the deep blue, sanctuary city of Boston, Massachusetts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup games currently scheduled to take place there unless it gets its crime situation under control.

As background, Republicans have grown increasingly cognizant of the fact that allowing world-famous events to take place in deep blue cities that have seemingly pro-crime prosecutors and officials is very bad, as it means that our worst face is presented to the world, and visiting spectators from all over are put at risk. So, there have been calls to strip California of the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

And now President Trump is threatening to call FIFA President Gianni Infantino and have the World Cup games moved out of Boston because of the high level of crime in the city, as was most recently shown by a violent street takeover in the city that targeted police and led to horrifying footage of a burning police cruiser.

He said, commenting on the matter, that though there are currently highly popular games scheduled, with tickets having sold out, the city’s mayor is a disaster and that needs to be taken into account because of the threat it poses. He began, “We can take them away. I love the people of Boston. And I know the games are sold out.”

Continuing, he explained that the Mayor of Boston is at least “intelligent” but radical left, which is a major problem, saying, “But the mayor is not good. There are worse than her. At least she’s intelligent. You know, some are extremely low IQ. Those bother me more. She’s intelligent, but she’s radical left.”

Still not done, the president noted that he could go ahead and call the FIFA head about what is going on in Boston and why it needs to be dealt with, saying, “The answer is yes, if somebody’s doing a bad job, and if I feel there’s unsafe conditions, I would call Gianni, the head of FIFA, who’s phenomenal, and I would say, ‘Let’s move it to another location.'”

Further, the president argued that the call would be heeded and the World Cup games moved out of Boston because of the safety concerns that have been created by Mayor Wu’s policies, saying, “And he would do that. He wouldn’t love to do it, but he’d do it, very easily he’d do it. And this is the right time to do it.”

The president further added that he could go ahead and move the Olympics out of Los Angeles because of the massive crime problem seen in that sanctuary city, saying, “I could say the same thing for the Olympics. If I thought LA was not going to be prepared properly, I’d move it to another location.”

    Watch him here:

The city of Boston, for its part, responded in a statement released to Fox News Digital, saying, “Boston is honored and excited to host World Cup matches, and we look forward to welcoming fans from around the world to our beautiful city, the cradle of liberty and city of champions.”
