On Saturday, former President Donald Trump hosted a massive rally in New Jersey, where estimates suggest anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 MAGA patriots were in attendance. During the rally, Trump turned his attention to former New Jersey Governor and ex-Republican primary competitor Christ Christie.
“That’s like Christie, you know Chris Christie. Does anybody like Chris Christie?” Trump asked the energetic crowd before it erupted into a roaring boo. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee further suggested Christy was “unhinged” and suffered from an acute case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
“So I was in New Hampshire and he was fighting a fight and you know, he’s like, totally unhinged. It’s called Trump derangement syndrome. I would say he was. He was a major case of Trump derangement syndrome,” Trump told his supporters.
The former president continued, recounting a story from the New Hampshire primary where an audience member had made a derogatory comment regarding Christie’s figure. Trump claimed that he informed the individual that was an inappropriate remark.
“But he was in there and somebody from the front row said, ‘Sir, he’s a fat pig.’ And I said, but nobody heard the person was a nice person, but said very, you know, I said, ‘you cannot call Chris Christie a fat pig. You cannot do that. Please, sir, if you call him a fat pig once more, I’m gonna have to have you leave the arena.’ The guy didn’t know what was happening. I said, ‘don’t worry about I’m only kidding.'”
Trump added that, in this day and age, one can easily be canceled for making the “career-ending” gesture that someone is overweight. He continued, “But I said you cannot call him a fat pig because you’re not allowed to use the fat word. You know, you can use almost anywhere, but you can use the fat where it’s career-ending. If you if you call somebody fat is career I think we’re all fat.”
Overall, Trump’s enormous New Jersey rally was packed with memorable moments where he connected with the blue state audience. At one point during the event, he brought NFL legend Lawrence Taylor on stage, who explained that no one in his family will ever vote Democrat again.
“I just wanted to say I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat. Until I met this man right here.
He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again,” the famous athlete said.
Anderson then took his turn at the microphone, saying, “Don’t you just love that guy? I tell you it has been a very exciting day. You guys, not one person left here. You’re still here yelling and screaming. So, my word is Wildwood are you in the house? I can’t hear you. Wildwood are you in the house?” The former running back concluded, “Thank you guys for all your support.” The crowd broke out into a loud “USA!” chant while Trump complimented the athletes as “great guys.”
